Music Reccomendation
I've said all of this before, but oh well. Repetition is fun! Or life is repetition. Bleh.
The Paper Chase - um, just unconventional way awesome music.
Clann Zu - nice relaxing music that sounds irish-ish but they're really from australia but now they're in ireland so they can tour around europe, heh.
Mindless Self Indulgence - crazy fun. genre: industrial jungle pussy punk
Add Cursive to that list, too. Yey.
Eh, a few random other bands:
The Faint - first cd is kinda indie/emoish stuff i guess, second two are more uh... dancey... i dunno.. no-wave something?
Tiger Army - psychobilly. hoo rah.
Velvet Acid Christ - industrial w/ lots of neato movie quotes
96 Quite Bitter Beings - CKY
an awesome song for summer driving when looking for trouble with your friends
More Human Than Human - White Zombie
another good driving song, for when you feel like going fast or dangerous
Baby Chaos, from Scotland.
Raveonettes
bite me
i dont know what you havent heard of..so do forgive if you have heard of these recommendations;
t-rex, marc bolan, muse, the flaming lips, dick dale and the deltones, the gotan project, and ryuichi sakamoto.
with a bit of luck, his life was ruined forever. always thinking that just behind some narrow door in all of his favorite bars, men in red woolen shirts are getting incredible kicks from things he'll never know.

Disx, you're really starting to freak me out. After I went off on one of my friends who hates emo, he made me a MSI cd. Weirdest thing I've ever heard, man.
The Faint is very techno, is what you're trying to think of.
Add to disx's list Bright Eyes, and a huge second on the Cursive.
There is hope, but not for us.
Haha, MSI is fucking great. They put on the best show EVER. Both times I've seen them play I've driven 5 & 6 hours for the damn show. Totally worth it, too.
Not techno, really. I mean, okay, it's techno, but not techno, haha.. ie: it's not typical rave stuff. They're kind of The Cure-ish. Except the first cd is pretty standard emo/indie type stuff. I like it all though, may go see them play this weekend.
But hey, listen to the Paper Chase. PLEASE. They are the best band ever. Fucking spectacular music.
Their site seems to be down at the moment, but god damn, find anything you possibly can by them, see if they're coming to your town, and fucking see them. I promise you'll love them if you give 'em a chance.
And if you can manage it, the best way to first expose yourself to them would to get ahold of their latest album, Hide the Kitchen Knives and listen to the whole thing through. First song starts off slow, but it just builds and builds and builds the whole song and oh man it's beautiful. So powerful and overwhelming, gives me chills, I love it. Anyhow, if you can pull that off, do it, and you should be hooked.
domestica is better than the latest cursive album that is getting all the hype.
i could have been an extra in the video that they just made for "art is hard" but i went to the conference instead. i'm banking my 15minutes for something BIG.
karate is my favorite band. they have progressed from indie rock to a new, jazzy feel, any of their albums are superb, but i would reccommend either "the bed is in the ocean" or "unsolved"
yeah yeah yeahs. --going to see them the night before my 21st birthday and coincidentally this is also the night before my last final at 7:45am. but it is worth it. this band is so good, if you can get past all the "new york rock is HOT" hype.
anything, and everything by tom waits.
i feel wierd still about this "new" klopper...but i'll share the love nonetheless
yeah yeah yeahs are fun.
unfortunately, i'm not even sure what's on the domestica album, no sites have the songs on it listed... of course i haven't looked hard. in fact, the extent of my search probably began and ended with cdnow. i'm new to cursive. actually, i found them awhile back, but i forgot about them. was reminded, then all my songs of theirs were gone. i had the cursive folder on my HD, but it was empty. strange.
kl0pper,
Not sure what the new you will think of this, but in my recommendations section of this site (kevin's recommendations) there is a cd I'm positive the old you will like. Its called the Kids of Widney High and it's performed completely by RETARDS. small_fire, back me up on this one. You know the cd, you know kl0ppers posts, Do we have a match? Also, I agree with you on Tom Waits.

I've heard about Kids of Widney High (it is an Ipecac release after all, heh), but I didn't take it very seirously. Is it "real" music or retard sounds?
Paper Chase. Similar artists: The Get Up Kids? Shit, that's bad. Influences: King Crimson? That's good.
New additions to the kl0pper library:
sunn0))) - void
Earthlings? - Earthlings?
Melvins - Crybaby
Soundgarden - Down on the Upside
Bongzilla - Stash
Shout out if you're familir with anything.
"Similar artists: The Get Up Kids? Shit, that's bad."
Erm, they sound nothing like the Get Up Kids, as far as I know... GUK, is pretty much default emo-ish stuff, no?
Don't think they sound anything like the Flaming Lips, either, but then again, I haven't heard the Flaming Lips in a long time.

Very interesting, I will look into them.
I get the feeling it's going to be something Mr Bungley/Butthole Surferery
kl0pper, couldn't you start a new username? It seems wrong to taint the 'kl0pper' name with sanity.

It's "real" music. Very eighties and played VERY serious, while marbled-mouthed retarded kids belt out lyrics about insects, teddy bears, Hollywood and new cars.
That rocks. I'm gonna get that ASAP
Yeah, plus idiots like Tiffany have quotes in the liner notes about what an inspiration these kids are. In the recommendations section of this site, there is a link to the cd on amazon where you can sample some songs if you want to hear what it sounds like. Check out Teddy Bear, it's brilliant.
Actually, try Insects. After talking about it, I just put the cd in. Man, Insects is an awesome song. Real rockin' eighties guitar with some of the worst/best lyrics I ever heard.
And, oh yeah, Tiffany's quote talks about how when she listens to the cd she realizes these kids are just like "us."
i am a fan of "pretty girls"

Boy Sets Fire - After the Eulogy
Amaaaaaaaaaazing album.
