Doesn't it feel a bit orchestrated that Knight is fresh out of rehab for painkillers and (wouldn't you know it) that kid (apparently) screws up his shoulder and now there's pain killers in the house?
And what's up with the blowdryer thing? That's just weird.
Yeah, I don't know. Hope they won't make a huge thing out of it, 'cause that'd bore me.
Ryan's a strange guy, I have no clue what to think of him.
Douche! Is what I think of him, that is all.
I don't like supporting tall skinny people any more than I have to. That guy is like 6'3" and must be stopped!
Either that or he should at least develop a pound a day doughnut habit... For the benefit of us all!!!
You must really hate Joel McHale then.

I like Tosh.0 but its not something I really watch a lot of.

Tosh.0 reminds me of a very short and bad translation of Encyclopedia Dramatica to television. Taking things from the internets to tv is just a bad idea all around. That show Patrice O'Neal did like that was almost good, but mostly just because watching Patrice O'neal do anything is good.
And I really, really wanted to like True Blood. I kept meaning to watch the first season, and then they had the one where whatshername showed her boobs and I was like "I have GOT to see this!" but I never did and just kept putting it off, then I watched the first episode of season two...and just sat there...with that kind of DeNiro/Sean Penn look on my face like constantly smelling a rancid turd. It just looked awful! I couldn't even focus on anything to do with the plot or acting because it looked so bad. Like old time MST3K movie kind of bad. They had one scene with the guy supposedly "running" all fast nshit and I gave myself a black eye with a facepalm.
Let me just say that in True Blood Story > Special FX. If all you can is cool special FX then go watch Avatar. If you stick with it a bit and watch more than half a show you may get the point. It gets better the more you watch, kind of the opposite of crack.

I'm not even talking about the effects. just the regular lighting, set design and whatnot looks straight out of Plan 9 from Outer Space. Did they blow all their budget on boobs? It looks like a student film project from 1998.
I don't know, it looks fine to me and thousands of other people.

It's because they shoot on a set in Los Angeles and try and make it look like backwater Louisiana. I don't understand why studio lighting directors can't stop lighting like it's for the stage. The set looks annoyingly plastic whenever it's obviously indoor stage.
It's not like they haven't figured that shit out though, people didn't really shoot location until like the 60's. Gone with the Wind looks great because it embraces the set instead of fights it, and that's like 1939 or whatever.
You know in all the years I've been here I've never been sigged?
For those of you who are going to check out Inception, here's the link to the prequel comic: http://movies.yahoo.com/feature/inception-comic.html
Anyone else think The High Road by Broken Bells simply rocks?
Is that the album opener? If so, yes. Yes, yes.

just watched Skins Season 4 again. and fuck--last episode, what a fucking joke. ughhh! it doesn't piss me off any less second time through. other than that, it was a brill season. so safe. innit right, me lover?

Yes. Yes, yes.

I downloaded this the other day but decided to wait till after I've seen it to read it. I'm wanting to go into this knowing as little as possible about it. Like, right now the only thing I know is Nolan directs, it's got DeCaprio and the other guy with the face and the one Juno chick and something about Dreams.
oh man oh man oh man, I can't wait!
Hah, I was thinking the same, Nate! Saved the comic as a PDF, reading it afterwards.
Was it the ending that pissed you off? I thought it was cool as hell. You know Cook took that guy, baseball bat or not. I hated Freddie but he didn't deserve what he got.

It wasn't that i doubted Cook taking him, because, obviously he's fucking Cook! and it certainly wasn't the ambiguity, because i love ambiguous endings. i think, more than anything, it just felt rushed. like they hadn't planned or thought it out as much as the previous seasons. i felt like i needed more, but seeing as though each generation gets two seasons, we won't get anymore for those guys.
and i didn't like Freddy much either. Cook was my favourite character in seasons three and four. maybe even out of all four. even though you hated him at times, he always redeemed himself. he was he perfect love/hate character.
i don't know.
looking forward to season five and the new cast.
Me too, Freddy's sister should be in the new cast, i like her. Pretty much all of season 4 seemed rushed, like they wanted to hurry and move on to the next season or something. There were still some really good episodes though, a couple of them made me cry a little. Not that i cry though, because i don't.
for real, man. although it was rushed and at times felt so much shitter than the previous three seasons, it was still incredible and their was some great storylines. and to give it the credit it deserves, skins' at its worst is so much better than so much televison, so, it works out really.
Naomi and Emily's arc was beautiful. that was probably my favourite story line of the second generation. and not just because it's two babes pashing in undies all the time either. and cook was heartbraking, and annoying, and beautiful and revolting. what a character.
American Psycho the novel rocks...random useless knowledge

I finally saw all of Jennifer's Body last night and I actually liked it. It had its cheesy moments, for sure, but I love horror movies and seeing girls kiss, so I liked it!
are you equating girl's kissing with horror? damn homophobe...

I'm so ashamed!!
there's a book club for that, buddy.
such an abundance of fang-banging in season 2 of true blood. shiiiiit.
yeh true blood really put me on to those HBO shits. did you see "You Don't Know Jack"? Al Pacino plays Dr Kevorkian, really good hbo flick
Just saw the new season of WKUK starts this friday on IFC and apparently IFC is also going to be the one running Kids in the Hall: Death Comes to Town and not HBO. surprised me some.
season two true blood. fuck me dead. that chick and her fucking vibrations. shit off.
Ha you should see the latest one. Its some crazy shit. Sookie is slowly turning into a badass.

I know, right? Season two; she's swearing at and slapping vamps. She's already pretty badass.
Its nothing compared to where this season is going. You need to hurry and catch up. Crazy shit is happening, mate, crazy shit.

I Know What You Did Last Summer came on the telly tonight, and Nat and I had a laugh about it, but now i'm hooked. it's a pretty good thriller/horror/i don't really know what you'd call it. i'm no good at movie genres.
@1:32
It's shark month here! Problem is, I've seen all the shows that'll be on.. Time for new shark shows!
I wish the new Walkmen album would come out already
I love The Walkmen. I didn't even know they had new stuff coming out. Nice.

yeup, the new album is called Lisbon, it should be out soon.. there are a few leaked versions floating around on blogs and whatnot, but they are crappy quality, so I'm holding out for a proper rip
Awesome, thanks.

I like that Angela whatever song a lot.
So I saw Tron Legacy last night, and there were two major things that keep it from being perfect.
1.) Clu's (Jeff Bridges) face. Dear God man, the CGI looked so horribly awful. Everytime he's on screen, you're taken out of the movie because they did such a crappy job on it.
2.) Getting over the fact that Sam learns how to disc fight like a pro within minutes. I guess he was just born awesome?
Besides those two things, it was a great film. Go see it in 3-D.

It WAS pretty awesome. I really enjoyed it.
I wouldn't expect a perfect face from Clu, but yeah, it did seem rather tight. It wasn't TOO bad, though.
I would expect Sam to be rather athletic, but to be so confident about throwing and catching a disc he just saw obliterate someone did seem rather far-fetched. A little training scene might've fit in somewhere, and they could've taken off some talking scenes from somewhere, I don't know.
Also, the actor choice for the cane dude seemed... off. Didn't like his performance. I know he was supposed to be an imposing and ominous but eccentric character, like the mad hatter or something, but it... just... didn't work... at all.
Si vis pacem, para bellum
i thought he was supposed to be ziggy stardust?

That, my friend, is the uncanny valley.
What about the fact that Clu's plan made no sense? He had no idea Sam was going to be the one to come through the portal. What if the Babylon 5 guy (the guy who got the message in the first place) went into the grid instead? And then Clu decides he's going to try to kill Sam by putting him in these dangerous games? WTF? Clu needs him (alive) so he can take over the world!

Crazy people do crazy things.
In the last Superman, Lex Luthor runs a real estate scheme.
No, I'm saying if he wanted to escape the grid, then why would he try to kill the only person who could make that happen? Plothole.
Lex Luthor was running a real estate scheme in the first superman movie too!
I've heard nothing but bad reviews from people outside of the Cult for Tron. The soundtrack is good, at least.
