I've never heard of it.
I have to second that Daybreakers is good. And I unfortunately just started Hot Tub Time Machine.... and I'm glad to hear Away We Go is good, it's on on demand right now for free.

Totally underrated. Krasinski has charm in spades. And that "Sweet Nothing" striptease scene? Goddamn. Watched that thing five times, and it never ceased to break my heart.
Black Dynamite was okay, but I'd long had my fill by the third act. I still prefer I'm Gonna Git You Sucka, or even the more sincere, behind-the-scenes Baadasssss!.
Only made it through less than half of Hot Tub Time Machine, then moved on to The Crazies, which was good.

I just watched The Women. I wanted to watch it cos it had several actresses that I dig.
It was one of those "I'm finding myself in my forties (i.e. plastic surgery fifties)" movies. It made me wanna gouge my eyes out, juuuuuuuuuust a little!
Does anyone else watch Tosh.0?

I got this yesterday. I had heard it was as funny as the Hangover which is one of my favorite comedies so I bought it without seeing it. It was nowhere near as good as The Hangover, but it had it's moments.
Also, I watch Tosh.0 from time to time. It's pretty good.

Yeah, there's probably a couple cheap laughs that I missed out on, but the wife and I weren't in the mood to watch what was in between. I didn't even want to rent it, because even the trailer seemed stupid, and nowhere near as funny as The Hangover. But that black guy is funny in other stuff so... I don't know. And yes, I love Tosh.0. Though sometimes he seems to go for shock value, it's usually pretty hilarious.

The new Spider-Man has been cast and it's Andrew Garfield.
He's not necessarily a complete nobody, but he's pretty unknown. I've seen him in a couple things and think he's a pretty good choice. Better than McGuire, but I never really liked him to begin with.
Garfield is 26, so what I'm wondering is how they're going to base their script on the Ultimate version since that takes place when Spidey is 15.

Here's hoping they get Emma Stone to play Mary Jane.
I saw a trailer for this and have had an itching to see it ever since.
Also the music I am currently obsessing over.
...just lurking.
I tried watching "Funny People" last night and had to turn it off because it got incredibly boring. While I agree it has many "Funny People" in it the plot was kind of lost. Like the whole movie was improvised from one scene to the next kind of like saying "and then this happens and then this happens and so on". From what I saw it had some funny cracks and one liners but ultimately was overall pretty dark and not what I was really expecting. Maybe I will take another crack at it again sometime. Plus the movie was way too long. I paused it after an hour forty and saw I had at least another hour left so I stopped it there.

An Education was an alright movie, but not much more.
This was a pretty good movie.

This is all it is:
Once they get over to Leslie Mann's house, it seems like everything starts to unravel and go to shit. That's basically the point I checked out. Whoever edited that movie really fucked up because there was plenty that could've been cut.
In other news, I watched Away We Go last night. Didn't love it. Didn't hate it. It was just okay.
I don't like this thread because it takes away from the other threads that have already been made for movies, music and TV. This is sort of a catch-all I guess if you want to talk about two or more of the subjects... then this thread is good for it, but I'd rather keep the topics seperate in their own respective threads.
That said, I watched Whip It last night and I felt the same way about it that Brandon felt about Away We Go.

Yeah I stopped the movie at exactly the same part. Although I did rather like Whip It but maybe that is just because I know a few derby girls.

I liked this. Who is it?

I found it refreshing in an era where so few comedies are able to find the right balance of humor and heart, without betraying tonal or structural consistency.
Plus, the "Sweet Nothing" scene, dude! THE "SWEET NOTHING" SCENE!
I really liked Away We Go. It was really sad because I don't have family like that. I cried a few times.
I'm not above saying it's a girl thing!
Started watching American Psycho again today. I've seen it but I hardly remember it. Damn good acting.

Watched Brooklyn's Finest last night. Good movie. Rented The Carriers and the dragon tattoo movie today.

There was a 'buy two, get one free' thing for TV series' at JB, so i bought Six Feet Under season one, True Blood season one, both which i have only seen a couple of episodes on tele and the free one was Twin Peaks season one.
i wanted to buy Carnivale season one, Wilfred season one (oh, shit! that's a fucking funny aussie TV show you should all watch) and the latest season of Underbelly but i bought too many books, so i couldn't really afford them.
I missed all but a few episodes of season two, but season one of True Blood was fan-fucking-tastic.
yeah i watched the first two eps, i think. seemed pretty rad.
Hurry and catch up Matt so we can talk about Vampire sex!
nothing on the cult is quite as gay as this--nope, not even Chuck bumming dudes.
Corrected.
Also we just watched the latest episode last night. Crazy stuff, crazy stuff.

Hey, I never said it was a good thing. Why don't you shut the fuck up and work on your novel
hah!
10k and counting.
I was a little disappointed in that one, too (especially visually), but I was excited for it because it was my brother's feature-film debut. He's one of Christian Bale's g-men, usually standing behind him brandishing a shotgun or whatnot.

Whoa! What?? That's incredible, man. What's his name?
I did extra work on a Tim Burton Film once and got directed by the man himself. He knows how to make an impression.

what film?
lol it was Mars Attacks. I was blown up on the bleachers... I was really blown up though, felt the heat on my back and fell cause I was too close to the explosion... it was awesome.

I caught the end of Tuck Everlasting on TV yesterday. I had to read the book in the 6th grade so it caught my interest.
I couldn't help but notice the similarity of it to Twilight. I must say, Alexis Bledel (sp?) is better in every sense of the word than Kristen Stewart.
Roger Welp. Works mostly around Chicago. He was bummed about his dialogue getting cut out. Recently starred in a pretty fancy book trailer for some superstar lawyer (the guy who was in the news that Lindsay Lohan couldn't afford) who decided he wanted to be a vanity author.
I had some friends who crewed on Mars Attacks when they shot some scenes near here.
Oh no, last episodes of The Hill and The City tomorrow, then the season's over again.
I also watch The Real World and dig it.
Doesn't it feel a bit orchestrated that Knight is fresh out of rehab for painkillers and (wouldn't you know it) that kid (apparently) screws up his shoulder and now there's pain killers in the house?
And what's up with the blowdryer thing? That's just weird.

dude, no wonder your new collection is themed Vanity. if you're watching all that bad television it's only natural that you're gonna want to write about it too.

Disc 2 of Season 1 of Deadwood should take care of that.
There's a new show coming to ABC called "No Ordinary Family" with Julie Benz playing a major role.

Yeah, I don't know. Hope they won't make a huge thing out of it, 'cause that'd bore me.
Ryan's a strange guy, I have no clue what to think of him.

Black Dynamite is one of the best movies I've seen in years.
