Movie talk
Too bad the story of Cosette and Marius isn't very well detailed in the movie. You almost wonder why and how they end up together.
Fans of musical theater wouldn't. Kids fall in love at first sight all the time in theater.
I don't mean that. I mean how they end up together after that. I barely saw the note that Eponine gave Marius. Not to mention some scenes are missing entirely, but that's ok, it's a thousand-pager, I don't expect everything to be in the movie.
I loved it, though. Everything about it.
In my opinion, the best film adaptation of Les Misérables (the novel), is the one directed by Robert Hossein and starring Lino Ventura.
It has two versions : a "short" one for theatres and a long one shown in four parts on french TV in the early 1980s.

I remember having nightmares after seeing it at the movies (the Fantine scenes are particularly disturbing). Very dark and gritty.

Before this one, I had only seen the one with Gerard Depardieu and Charlotte Gainsbourg. The snow scene was what touched me most.
I love that movie. Haven't seen it in a long time.
And don't call me Shirley.
Django. Awesome.
Is there a romcom with Bradley whatshisface and Hunger Games girl? That's kind of creepy.
Silver Linings Playbook, yeah. It's supposed to be alright, actually.
Just read some stuff about it and it aounds alright, but Jennifer Lawrence as a recoveing sex addict and alcholic? She's like 12!
Ok, she's 22.
She is so adorable. She did some modeling for one of those preppy clothing stores. The picture they were going to have her in had her playing football with some other models. She actually got so into it that they couldn't use any of her pictures because of how red and sweaty she got. Again. She's adorable.
Oh, I like her. I thought she was excellent in Hunger Games. But before that all I'd seen her in was this sitcom The Generic Funny Man With Family Show, where she played a ditsy young girl.
I just thought that the age difference between her and Bradley Cooper(?) was heaps. But I watched the trailer and it seems fine.
Pål Martin and I started watching Silver Linings Playbook on Saturday, and I really wanted to like it, but we turned it off about halfway through. It wasn't very funny, it wasn't sad, it wasn't much of anything.
And she just won a Globe for that movie.
Now I have to see Argo, dammit.
I haven't seen Life of Pi yet, but the music win is fine, considering the composer is Mychael Danna, who also wrote the music for Girl, Interrupted.
The trailer for that went on and on, feel like I've already seen it...and it was shit!
Django comes out in the UK this weekend, whoop!
Anyone seen Gangster Squad? I wanna see it at the cinema this week.
Same here, and we're gonna go!
I wanna see that.
Pål Martin said it was okay.
I heard it was quite good, so I'm definitely gonna go see it. I'm a Gosling fanboy anyways, and I heard he was good in it. So yeah, I need to download it or go see it when it comes out here (unless it already is).
Really enjoyed Looper. Thought it was great.
Zero Dark Thirty was highly disappointing, considering its ratings. It didn't deserve the nomination.

My old school mate, Liza, helped in this production
Django Unchained was fucking cool.
Fuck yes it was.
Also, watched The Hours tonight at my friends place. What a great goddamn movie.
That's what it pretty much is. Based on the same people and what. I haven't seen it, I just think I know that from walking passed a muted Tv running the trailer. I get grossed out when I see Ryan Gosling now because I'm forced to think about all of you jacking off.
Not YOU...but...you.
Yes at Django.
Yes at The Hours.
Started watching Les Misérables, and I'm not liking the constant singing, uff.
Right? I mean, I can appreciate an opera, but not when it's better off as not an opera.

haha
I haven't even seen Gangster Squad yet, it doesn't look like that great a film so I haven't made the effort. Seeing Django this afternoon and I'm so excited!
I wanted to see Gangster Squad but I kept reading awful reviews. I saw Argo yesterday, though, and damn powerful movie. I totally get why it got the Globe. I'll see Lincoln or Life of Pi tonight.
I don't trust reviews, because there have been too many movies that I liked that had bad reviews.
The Notebook? Har har.
Sorry.
Haha, actually, no. I was thinking more along the lines of Constantine. That one stands out in my mind as one of my favorite movies that didn't generally get great reviews.
I personally couldn't stand that movie.
I loved Sucker Punch and i don't think anyone reviewed it positively.
I watched Ted last night. I couldn't reallly get past the fact that Ted was pretty much Peter from Family Guy. I know it's the same dude and stuff. It was ok. Had a couple of laughs.
Damn you Daniel Day-Lewis, if that isn't an Oscar I don't know what is!
I just rented Ted and Looper. I have a hangover to nurse, so yay movies.

Watched Zero Dark Thirty today. I didn't know what to expect but I enjoyed it.
I watched a movie yesterday with my friends yesterday (before being made a groomsman) and the main character, change the hair color and add some piercings, looked a lot like Noah.
Oops. Forgot to say the actor. You'll think I'm crazy for thinking the previous, but the guy's name is Marshall Allman.
I just watched Moon Last night, and I was very impressed. First off, never knew that David Bowie had a son. Let alone that he was a very good director. The main actor, Sam Rockwell, is a badass. I was wondering if anyone had any other good suggestions for recent abstract space themed movies that came out in the last couple of years.

I'm watching Les Miserables and damn, look at all those awesome voices! It's good that I read the book last year, this way I can remember every detail when I see it in the movie.
Also, the girl playing Eponine kinda looks like Camille.
