Movie talk
I am finally watching Von Trier's Antichrist. I downloaded this movie right after the Cannes festival that year and I've always been afraid to see it. I hope I'm ready now (but I'll close my eyes when she uses the scissors, I'll never be ready for THAT).
I saw The Master this week. It was good but not amazing.
That movie was so weird and fucked up. I'm not even sure what it was about.
That movie was so weird and fucked up. I'm not even sure what it was about.
This is how I felt about it, too.
It was weird, but I finally watched it. This has got to be one of my accomplishments this year. I mean, the movie has the "Promotion Use Only" watermark on the screen, it's THAT old.
Watched Lincoln yesterday and really liked it. WTF happened to James Spader? I didn't even recognize him.
That's what happens when you turn 50.
I still have Looking Like Lincoln to look forward to!
I'm torn between the beard and the hat. Because no way can I pull off both.
This is why we can't have nice things.
Every scene with James Spader was amazing. I honestly think he stole the show.

Especially the first half of the movie.
Just watched Rise of the Guardians. Pretty damn enjoyable. I don't understand all this "lack of story" business coming from the critics. It was pretty rich for an animated kids movie.
Si vis pacem, para bellum
The extended trailer looked AWFUL! It got some pretty good reviews here though. Still don't think I'll see it. (Rise of the Guardians)
Yeah, it just looks like a confused mess from what I've seen.
This is why we can't have nice things.
I've always thought that the quality of a trailer is inversely proportional to the quality of the movie. That seems to be true in this case.
The visuals are definitely the best part, though. I recommend it in 3D.

We sent my cousin and grandpa to go see it while me, my mom , and grandma watched Twilight. I kind of did want to watch Rise of the Guardians because I was curious about what the story was all about. My little cousin didn't seem to impressed by it though.
I found a VHS tape of a movie I haven't seen in soo long. I'm watching the Ten Commandments. I'm a sucker for Charlton Heston and Yul Brenner.
I just finished watching Paprika.
Where has this movie been all my life?

I need the novel and the movie now.
Killing Them Softly was pretty awesome. But I was drunk, so...

Also, I love watching Predators, specifically because of the samurai scene.

Just watched Coraline--that was really disturbing.
I love that film.
This is why we can't have nice things.
So, of course, does Izzi.

The "Happy Place," before anything was found out, creeped me out.
I never saw the very end of Coraline, the last fifteen minutes. I think we had it on DVR and for some reason it cut off.
I don't know what finally happens at all.
Really? That good, Jazmyn? I'll have to look that up.
Also, going to watch Breathless today, because it's Jean Luc Godard's birthday!
Hopefully, I can get my oldest daughter to watch it with me, and introduce her to the world of French new wave.

“I am not interested in making political films but in making films politically”-Jean-Luc Godard
“All you need to make a film is a girl and a gun”—Jean-Luc Godard
“I believe a film should have a beginning, a middle and an end, but not necessarily in that order.”
Wow, I like James Spader and I just saw Lincoln in the theater. I didn't even realize that was him! I had to look up who he played. I recognized his partner in the movie, John Hawkes, because I loved him in Deadwood. I can't believe that was James Spader! He was great, though.

I watched Frost/Nixon for the first time on Monday and really liked it.
A Christmas Carol (animation with Jim Carrey) wasn't very good.
Inside Job (Documentary) was very interesting, and very frustrating to watch at the same time. Ugh.
I didn't enjoy the Christmas Carol with Jim Carrey much either. Very weird. I wasn't sure about that bloody candle spirit and its weird accent.
I thought I was going to like it, but there was something off about it.
I thought I was going to hate it but didn't mind it (I won't go so far as to say I liked it). Too much slapstick.
Is that the guy from O Brother Where Art Thou? If so, I liked him in that.
I went to see Sightseers just now and it was great! Wasn't as good as Kill List but I did enjoy it and I did a massive snort-laugh at one bit which was embarrassing.
Looking on imdb, it ticks me off a little to see Miley Cyrus in movies like "So Undercover". Like someone actually said to her, "You're done with the Disney crap. This is the right next step for your career."
We're watching Gleaming the Cube. A skater movie with a really young Christian Slater (1989). Our freeview box is broken so we've been watching crappy movies off youtube. We watched Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle movie the other day.
God, I knew people in that.
This is why we can't have nice things.
I loved the original Turtles movie. It was the only gritty one. The other ones were too family friendly... But te second did have Vanilla Ice so...
I was obsessed with the Teenaged Mutant Ninja Turtles.
I found an old school paper, from third grade, a while ago that had one side for things I liked or that were "good" and the other for things that I didn't like or were "bad".
Good Stuff:
Pizza and Teenaged mutant ninja Turtles
Bad Stuff:
Shredder and Pollution.
Universal Soldier: Day of Reckoning is nice movie.
avatar spam, that´s a first, no?
Haha! Brilliant!
I'm currently watching Stuck on You. This movie could have been so bad, but it's really very good.
LIAR!

Xanadu! eh, this is better.
Enjoy!!

I watched Lincoln and Life of Pi this week. I highly recommend both.

I'm going to go see The Hobbit tomorrow evening. I've read some not so good reviews, so now I know not to expect it to be amazing.
Ooh good to hear about Life of Pi! I'm really looking forwawrd to that.
We're watching Me Myself and Irene.
We're seeing The Hobbit on Saturday. I actually find all these films really boring so I'm not very excited. I'm really excited for West of Memphis, my rabid interest in it is in full swing again.
I promised my sister we'd go to see The Hobbit tomorrow after she finishes classes. I just hate that they made it a trilogy.
Yeah, I read that the movie drags. It bothers me that they're trying to squeeze out as much money as possible by making it 3 movies.

I watched James and The Giant Peach, Land Before Time, and Fievel Goes West with my little cousin. It was nice to see her enjoy the films.
