Movie talk
*70ish
I'm just waiting for a Superman movie with BrainIAC as the main bad guy. I mean it was the cause of Krypton's destruction! And with all the technology of modern day society, it just makes sense.
Sick of Lex Luther as the villain.
dude has three michelin stars and charges $300 / 30000Y for a meal. his restaurant only allows ten guests a night and you have to reserve a spot a month in advance. he lives his life with such precision and consistency (higher than typical japanese standards) and i kind of feel bad for his kids (two sons) who are living under the shadow of this man and his accomplishments.
one son is being groomed to take over jiro's restaurant while the other opened his own restaurant. it's an interesting documentary and highlights not just the passion these guys have for making sushi but also the passion their suppliers (fish dealer, rice seller, etc) have for their own trade.
they've said more than once that it's not about the money, which is in sharp contrast to how typical american entrepreneurs view their business ventures.
I watched this too! Yesterday!
I loved it so much, I loved all the people in it, it was wonderful.
I liked Constantine too, but I know nothing about the comics.
Gonna see Sleepwalk With Me after work today. I'll let you know how it is.
It's a movie based on comedian Mike Brbiglia's life directed by NPR's Ira Glass
So, actually got tickets to see The Master last night, special preview screening. It's pretty amazing, great performances from both the male leads. I'm glad we're going again on Friday because there's a lot to take in.
Sleepwalk With Me was terrific!
Please support it so NPR can make more movies!
It's Mike Birbiglia's true story. A guy struggles being a comedian, being in a committed relationship, and being a sleepwalker.

Was he featured in a segment about sleep ailments recently on This American Life?
I didn't catch the whole show, but I'm thinking this had to be one of the stories...and since it's Ira Glass....gonna go look it up now.
Most likely. He was probably promoting this movie. The story of this movie is actually an old episode of This American Life.
Yeah! Here it is. It was replayed a couple of weeks ago on my local NPR station. I wanted to hear the whole thing because of my own sleep issues. Good stuff.
i'm glad there's a new resident evil movie coming out. it's a complete guilty pleasure since it doesn't offer much in terms of plot like most video game movie ports that suck ass.
i watched all the other ones because of milla jovovich. she's awesome at kicking ass, even way back when fifth element came out.
I saw the first 3, but once I realized this completely unfaithful group of adaptations was going to continue, I realized I wasn't going to.
A Dark Knight Returns cartoon. Will it suck like Superman: Doomsday?

She is, imho, our best current action movie star. Go figure.
Tuffy the Dump Truck may rarely increase the risk of a heart attack or stroke. The risk may be greater if you have heart disease or increased risk for heart disease (for example, due to smoking, family history of heart disease, or conditions such as high blood pressure or diabetes), or with longer use. Tuffy should not be taken right before or after heart bypass surgery. Also, Tuffy may infrequently cause serious (rarely fatal) bleeding from the stomach or intestines. This effect can occur without warning symptoms at any time while taking Tuffy. Older adults may be at higher risk for this effect. (See also Precautions and Drug Interactions sections.) Stop taking Tuffy and get medical help right away if you notice any of the following rare but serious side effects: bloody or black/tarry stools, persistent stomach/abdominal pain, vomit that looks like coffee grounds, chest/jaw/left arm pain, shortness of breath, unusual sweating, weakness on one side of the body, sudden vision changes, slurred speech. Ask your doctor if Tuffy is right for you.
I saw the new trailer for Lincoln. Seems like it will live up to my expectations.
Not to mention Cloud Atlas, which I'm waiting for like the second coming of Christ.
Oh my god, those movies. I can't fucking wait.
Cloud Atlas looks so awful, I can't even.. ugh. Some books just aren't made for movie adaptation.
I'm waiting for this to come out. I'm easily amused by Doug Benson. It's about him going on a comedy tour so he can fund the movie about the comedy tour.
Also looking forward to this film about mob hitman, Richard "The Iceman" Kuklinski. The real guy seemed pretty intense in that HBO interview a few years back.

So, the other movie I was in this year is now called "Won't Back Down".

Isn't that about school sucking or something?
I just read some long thing the other day about billionaire/government funding of Hollywood for the purpose of propagating the masses minds and how the newest victim under attack is the traditional schooling system. The whole article made little sense mixing too many circumstances from this and that part of history together and calling the fact that we are all wanting a better education for our children a conspiracy brainwashing. Or something. They mentioned that movie, I think.
An inner city school sucks and a mom tries to get a better one. Something like that.
The tinfoil hat brigade are all over it, all right.

I thought The Master came out today, so I was really pumped, but it turns out its next week and this weeks only limited release, and everybody knows that Rochester is a 3/4 horse town.

i'm watching mean girls drunk. fuck it.
The tinfoil hat brigade are all over it, all right.
They are all over everything Godamnnn!!!
All the good stuff anyway.

Gonna go see TED at the movies later today! Not expecting anything great, just gonna have fun.
I allowed my 21 year old sister to take my sixteen year old son to see that. If that's the worst parenting decision I make this year, though, then I think he'll be okay.
Also, Mean Girls while tipsy would be awesome.
That's not a bad parenting decision.
The movie was okay, pretty predictable of course, but definitely some funny moments here and there.
i watched all the other ones because of milla jovovich. she's awesome at kicking ass, even way back when fifth element came out.
I saw the trailer for this last night. It look's good.
Milla looks great doing the high kicks in black leather but the 3D worries me abit, hope it doesn't ruin the film.
There is no proper way to cope, no everlasting grace.
Just a flame on a river floating away.
So apparently that Dredd 3D movie is really good. It's got a 90% on Rotten Tomatoes based on 51 reviews and I just found out it was written by Alex Garland, the guy behind Sunshine and 28 Days Later.
Now I have to see it.

Somebody told me I have the couch from that movie.
I watched it Friday. I'm going to rewatch it today. I got it from Netflix. I have to buy it now.
That movie had everything, but it never got too over-the-top some how, even though it was totally over the top. Does that even make sense?
I have not. I know you said it was good, but I was waiting for the movie (since that's the original source in this case).
ooh.. did you say cabin in the woods is on netflix now? or did you get the dvd?
I got the DVD.
I think it's only available on Netflix DVD's (I couldn't find it as a streaming option). Do you have Amazon Prime? We pay $79 a year, but it's well worth it for all the perks (free 2nd day shipping on pretty much everything, Kindle lending library, tons of free video content, etc). I think I paid $2.99 to rent it through Amazon's instant video (hooked up to the TV via Roku).
Argo chose to come out at either a really good time, or a really bad time...
I want to see that movie really badly.
I used to hate Jason Segel so much. I thought he was unremarkable and odd-looking. But now he's one of my favorites. I watched Forgetting Sarah Marshall all the way through and it was really good. Then i watched Jeff, Who Lives at Home, which was good too. Then i saw The Five Year Engagement, which was hilarious and different. It reminds me of a Woody Allen movie. I could see Jason Segel as the next Woody Allen actually.
Have you seen't The Killer Inside Him? I wouldn't run away with that.
Watched End of Watch, of which the ending of that watching was a tad anticlimactic, despite the emotion involved.
Si vis pacem, para bellum
Watching Moonrise Kingdom, and I love it.
I'll probably watch that over the weekend.
We want to see it ! We are huge Wes Anderson fans.

I liked Constantine and V for Vendetta and Ironman. I liked the Tobey Maquire Spiderman but just the first one. I don't remember the rest although I know I took Giancarlo to see them.
I liked the bad guys in the Superman remake, but the original Superman movie (1980-ish) will always be my favorite because I was like 5 when I saw it.
