Movie talk
Oh yeah? what about The Matrix?
I've seen The Matrix. Very little else though.
You guys are making me want to restart up my movie blog, Unseen Scenes. Where I review movies that I've never seen.
Casablanca: Predictable plot. The guy in charge of the colors did a shitty job. More like Casa Too Blanca.
DO IT.

DO IT.
Holy crap! It's been going on 3 years since I did this! I figured it was just like a year ago or something! Shit.

I think my next movie I do is going to be The Godfather.
You've never seen The Godfather!
The last couple pages of this thread bring so much disappointment.
That's why I won't ever say anything bad about these rotten kids for having never seen classic movies. I've never seen the original Alien either. I saw Jaws finally, like a year ago, but that was because I found a Rifftrax version of it.
I just found a torrent for the most horrifying movie I've ever seen. Dark Night of the Scarecrow. This thing scared/scarred me so much as a kid that I wasn't sure I had the balls to download it and try to watch it again. Luckily, as I was trying to decide, I noticed that it was an Italian version. I'm spared!!
I watched Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close last night. I liked it quite a bit. I didn't think I was going to, but it grew on me. It was a tear jerker for sure. I mean I came close to a crying here and there, but the girls I weas watching it with were bawling just about the whole time.

I watched Reservoir Dogs last night. It had been a long time.
I really loved the book, but I've heard they changed the movie significantly. Was there any grandfather story somewhere in the background - related to that key?
There was a grandfather. I don't know how significant his role is in the book, however in the movie he assists Oskar on his mission in relation to the key.

Well now I have to see it, I guess.
I kinda want to see it just because it reminded me that Max Von Sydow was still alive and doing movies.
I saw Vivre sa vie today. Anna Karina is perfect.
Saw Midnight in Paris last night. Kinda hokey, messed up the chronology of the celebrities that he meets' lives, but overall it was Woody Allen. It was charming. And it was a great movie.
And it was Marion Cotillard!
Carla Bruni too.
I saw a trailer for Battleship last night--it looks like they ripped off Stephen King's The Dome.
That actually looks like it could be a good aliens-blow-em-up type movie, but I just can't get over them tying it into the board game.
Yeah, this looks nothing like the game. But you have to be careful not to offend other countries by creating fictional sea battles against them. Aliens are PC.

I guess they couldn't have all the fancy lasers and esplosions, but you can never go wrong having Nazis as the villains.
I just watched Men in Black for the first time in a long time. That's got probably one of my favorite lines from any movie:
"K! Something's peeking!"
I like it a lot too. Don't watch the sequel, though. Not worth it.

Yeah, I read the reviews on the second one and still decided to watch it. Big mistake. Damn, and it did dampen the first one!

But how is it compared to Hunger Games? also is it Hunger Games or The Hunger Games?
I actually prefer Hunger Games over Battle Royale.
And anybody who says Hunger Games is just a rip off of Battle Royale has obviously never heard of The Long Walk.
Or Running Man.
Or Logan's Run.
Or Rollerball.
Or Lord of the Flies.
Or The Most Dangerous Game.
Or paid attention in history class when they were covering the Roman Empire.

I'm looking forward to The Cabin in the Woods, but I haven't looked anything else up about it because I've heard it can be easily spoiled. I'm not really a fan of horror movies. In fact, the only horror I can remember liking was the remake of The Crazies. The scene where the one guy gives himself up to distract the police kills me every time I see it. Theirs something about police flood lights that really bother me so I was on edge the whole time.

I want to see Cabin in the Woods too. I'm not sure why but it's one of the first horror trailers that called my interest in a long time.
It seems to me like they spoiler it in the trailer, unless there's another thing to be spoiled in it. Maybe that's the way things are gonna be from now on, the twist ending to the twist ending.
Anyways, I'm curious to see it too.
Have you ever seen the original Crazies? I watched it back when the remake came out. Man, that is one messed up movie. And not, like, messed up with blood and gore and whatnot. That's all in there, but messed up character and story-wise. If they would have kept that original story with the modern remake it could've been one of the most horrifying horror movies of all time! and probably would've been rated NC-17.
I watched Carnage yesterday, and naturally, Kate Winslet is so good it hurts.
I want to see Cabin in the Woods too. I'm not sure why but it's one of the first horror trailers that called my interest in a long time.
Have you seen The Woman in Black?

Have you seen The Woman in Black?
Nope. Not sure I could sit through that. I'll be expecting Radcliffe to pull out a wand and make the dark things disappear. The way you talked about the book I don't think I could read it either(I need to be able to sleep at night). I'm very selective of horror movies.
I don't know if I want to see this or not.
This looks good. I don't know if I will be able to sit through the whole movie looking at JGL's face like that, though.
And I think I am done posting youtube videos for the night.

I sort of half watched the Looper trailer, and have no clue what the movie is about. How can Joseph's face look like that? Confusing.
Is there a difference between Battle Royale and Battle Royale Special Edition? Because I just watched the Special Edition one and it was pretty terrible.
I came in here wanting to put the Looper trailer up. I'm... so... fucking... excited. Everything Rian Johnson's done has been pure gold (granted, there're only two films, but both are in my top 5). When I heard he was doing a sci-fi flick, I instantly thought that this might turn out to be my favorite movie ever. So far, it looks promising.
Si vis pacem, para bellum
But JGL's face! It's already bothering me.

Not me. Frankly, I think the make-up artist did a pretty good job making him look more like Bruce Willis. It's like what they did for young K in MIB 3.
Si vis pacem, para bellum
Hehe, I thought you called me Franky. Ugh, I hope I can get over it. I think the difference between his look and Josh Brolin in MIB 3 is that Brolin's looks more subtle.

I don't notice JGL looking different at all, but I am very excited for Looper. I loved Brick.
Went and saw The Cabin in the Woods this afternoon and it was amazing. Seriously, everyone just go see it. I can't say anything else without ruining it. Just go.

Just got back from seeing Cabin in the Woods. I dunno. it was good and all. Definitely one of the best written horror movies. But from the trailer and what little I had read up about it, fell way, WAY short of how good it could have been. For starters, it's really more of a comedy than a horror movie.
So it's like a Sam Raimi film? UGH, now I have to go see it.
Si vis pacem, para bellum
Looper looks good. But the name sounds really stupid to me.
No, not funny in the same way at all. Drag me to Hell was funny because it was so bad.

I wasn't crazy about Zombieland.
And I've never seen Ghostbusters either.
Or Caddyshack.
Or Animal House.
Or any of the Monty Python movies.
Or [Insert name of any movie you'd call "a classic" here]
