Movie talk
i like it, too. it was sad, but for someone who is SO well-known, he played a stranger prety well.
i need to see spider
loved punch drunk love
i just rented trekkies, that's hilarious
also we started watching star trek tng from season 1, we're gunna watch all of them back to back, 2 or 3 episodes a night.
HAHA! I've started watching OG Star Trek! We're limited to about an episode a night cause were fixing up our house but as creepy as it sounds (being that these episodes were filmed 40ish years ago) I think i'm in love with leonard nimoy!
On a MOVIE related note:I just watched Dark Knight for the first time. I was hoping all the hype wasn't going to ruin it and i am happy to say that it didn't. The movie was awesome.
P.s. 29 days until HPHBP
<----Harry Potter is my homeboy.
I just wrestle with you in my dreams and wake up making love to a pillow.
I really don't get Harry Potter. At all. I tried reading, but couldn't get into the books. Watched the movies, and even though I didn't like the books, I thought the movie did no justice to the books.
On a different note, is anyone else sick of this seemingly new vampire craze? True Blood, Twilight, Blade, Van Helsing, Being Human, Night/Daywatch, Underworld, etc. I'll see Park Chan-wook's "Thirst" when it comes out, but that's because it's Park Chan-wook. Anyone see "Oldboy"? Sick!

the 3rd Blade had ryan reynolds shirtless and in chains, and Underworld had kate beckinsale with fangs. i enjoyed them. but yeah, all the rest is shit.
come to the world of zombies, my friend. no more melancholy!! just walking rotting flesh!!
and a much more exciting range of make-up effects.
I just found a copy of The Private Eyes with Tim Conway and Don Knotts, online. It's seriously my favorite Halloween movie of all time and I literally squealed, out loud, "Eeeep!" like a little girl when I saw it.
I sat there and watched it download for the first 15 minutes just rocking back and forth going "Oh man! Awesome! I can't believe it!" over and over before I was able to get my brain back to doing other things until it was finished.
Good plan eliZamellon, zombie are more gory, more fun, and less glorified. I need to get I Am Legend. That was really good. I just remember sitting in the theater amazed at the effect of the minimal score throughout.
BTW, watching The Rocketeer right now. They are able to kill so many Nazis while maintaining a PG rating. That amuses me. I forgot how many famous actors are in it: Terry O'Quinn (John Locke), Jennifer Connelly, Alan Arkin, Paul Sorvino. I need to read the graphic novel when it's re-released in the fall.

TrueBlood is very very loosely based on the Southern Vampire Series by Charlaine Harris. The show is cool in the sense that it is really different from the books, so the people who read the books can still have tons of surprises.
Any Dean Koontz fans? I found out they are making a movie to his Odd Thomas series. I <3 Odd, so i hope they don't eff it up.
I just wrestle with you in my dreams and wake up making love to a pillow.
I'm seeing Away We Go tonight at the only theatre in the St. Louis area that's playing it...excited! It looks like it's only 90 minutes though...a little shorter than the length of my round-trip to get there.
Are the scissors broken in your house, son?
fake indie! that's what i say.
I'll see Park Chan-wook's "Thirst" when it comes out, but that's because it's Park Chan-wook. Anyone see "Oldboy"? Sick!
I adore all his films, and Thirst looks back on complete form after the somewhat disappointing I'm A Cyborg, still liked this though. Oh, have you seen the Bollywood remake of Oldboy, it's TERRIBLEEEE, worth watching if you want a laugh actually.

I've only read Intensity(think this was made into a film), I thought it was brilliant! I want to get a second book by him, any recommendations?
Away We Go was really, really cute + funny.
Are the scissors broken in your house, son?
Koontz has a weird thing for blonde twins. there were blond twins that hung out in the corner with all those cats..... i can't remember which one, but it was their brother that was the bad guy. damnitt.
and then there were the blonde twins in the one where the alien kid was teaching people how to commune with the world through reading dogs' minds - i can't remember the name of that one, either!!
but he does love the blonde twins. i bet he's loving hef's skanky new girlfriends.
sorry, totally off-topic.
um, Psycho Beach Party is awesome. there. back on track.
i downloaded Teenage Catgirls in Heat.
which Dean Koontz blonde twins book is that?
Has anyone seen the movie version of Dolan's Cadillac? Did anyone even know there was a movie version of Dolan's Cadillac?
Any good?
Last film I saw in the cinema was Coraline (in 3D!), that was pretty good. I was looking forward to Public Enemies but now it's gotten some bad/average reviews I'm worried it'll be a disappointment.
Pretty bad year for films so far.
!
I dunno man, both MOON and GOODBYE SOLO are A++ movies, and although we had a good laugh at the promo material when Pallix was here, I'm looking forward to checking out THE HURT LOCKER this week--playing in SLC of all places.
I'm thinking seriously of going to see that Moon today, or at least sometime in the coming week. But the only place it's showing is over across the river and it's just such a big production to go all the way down there... i dunno.
I do think it's funny that I have to go to Kentucky of all places to see a cool little indie film like this.
I gotta watch some kind of good film, that's all I know. I've been inundating myself with so many bad films lately, like a 100 terrible horror movies and I've probably watched like 30 episodes of MST3K with some truly awful movies that I feel this sludge just building up inside my head. I really feel a lot dumber right now. Time to change the brain oil with something good.
also, to anyone that's seen it already. Is this a spoiler from the trailer, with the little reflection of Sam Rockwell in his space helmet glass?
I watched the Proposal and it was just about as bad as I expected it to be.
Step back. Evaluate. Recognize.
I just watched Solaris, the 2002 Steven Sodorbergh version. I really like it, and it's put me in the mood to see Moon
!
Nate: Not a spoiler. Everything I was told about a big twist ending was BS, also, just in case you've heard anything.
I haven't heard anything, but i do think they gave it away on their own website in some of their behind the scenes video.
does ryan reynolds get naked? we have a place that plays $4 matinees, and i'd fork over 4bucks if he does.

You owe me four dollars. or at least 2.

Well he gets 'naked' but all you get to see is whats right there ^.
Save your money lol

at one point i had a still from that very scene as my screen saver.
why aren't more people chained up in movies?
and will you take the 2 dollars in pennies??
i have TONS lying around.
stop talking about the proposal.
what's the proposal??? is that what started the naked ryan reynolds talk??
yeah, i guess that was it.
the only way to get the topic off naked ryan reynolds is to start talking about another movie.
i started watching black snake moan the other day. it was good too, i love the way samuel l. jackson talks in it. also, guess whose boobs you get to see in it...
are they bigger than her forehead??
because that would be REALLY BIG.
(please don't kill me i'm just messin around)
move out.
Step back. Evaluate. Recognize.
she has a really decent rack so yes, bigger than the forehead.
she also shows her boobs in prozac nation.
no, you.
also i'm itching to watch Beetlejuice.
there, back on track.
I really liked Black Snake Moan. Samuel L. Jackson is the man!, and Christina Ricci has a nice rack. She should roll around on the floor in all her movies. I'm also a fan of JT, though he didn't really get to do much in this movie.
I'm a big fan of John Leguizamo and watch "Where God Left His Shoes" yeaterday. It was quite a good movie. He's always great, but the kid that plays his stepson was very good. Elements in the story are fairly unique in the "down on their luck" family drama.

So did anyone ever find out what that movie 7 pounds was about?
I did. I liked it. There was a jellyfish involved that may or may not have weighed seven pounds.
So it wasn't him giving birth to a 7 pound baby?
in related news: This is the stupidest fucking thing ever but damn if I can't stop from laughing my ass off at it.

After just watching again, Ocean's 13 has got to have one of the greatest final scenes I've ever seen in a movie. Poor David Paymer. I cheered for him!
mayhaps this deserves it's own thread; Great Movie Endings.
mayhaps this deserves it's own thread; Great Movie Endings.
Literally the only thing I can remember from that film is these two lines:
-what are you going to do? Throw me of the rooftop?
-well I don't want to!
!
jackie chan is gonna play mr. myagi in the new karate kid. slapstick, anyone?
I haven't had a chance to watch Let The Right One In yet but I have it next to the top of my netflix queue. I'm looking forward to it, I've heard good things. I've also heard they're doing an American remake, which is probably going to be awful.
Aces, I hope you like it. (Guess what...I totally blubbed!)
You blubbed?! I, for one, am totally shocked...
I finally saw Martyrs. It was okay. I admired it more then I enjoyed it. I could hardly watch toward the end though.
I still really wanna see Moon but I know I won't catch it until it comes to DVD.
"The Warmth of Blood" 30 min Short Film
watched Sukiyaki Western: Django. pretty good. that end scene in the snow was awesome.
"It is true, that which I have revealed to you; there is no God, no universe, no human race, no earthly life, no heaven, no hell. It is all a dream - a grotesque and foolish dream. Nothing exists but you. And you are but a thought - a vagrant thought, a useless thought, a homeless thought, wandering forlorn among the empty eternities."
After seeing Martyrs I am kinda curious to see more French Horror. I have already seen High Tension. Has anyone seen Inside?
"The Warmth of Blood" 30 min Short Film
I watched A Streetcar Named Desire again because it was on AMC or something the other night.
I finally saw the unedited version of Flesh + Blood.
Me and this guy I hang out with watched The Thing recently, but we mostly laughed at our own Wilford Brimley ad-libbing.
Netflix sent me The Proposition today, so I'll probably watch it tomorrow night. I have a feeling it's going to be upsetting to me.

I think I'm the only person who liked Tom Hanks in The Terminal.
