Movie talk
i loved that movie. It's like, the biggest mind fuck and artsy-est movie ever. Loved it.

I saw the Nick Cage Bad Lieutenant film yesterday. It is a crooked cop movie on crack. Literately. It's unflinchingly disturbing and wierd and I enjoyed every minute of it.

ANTLERS!
I really liked Das Leben Der Anderen.
that was a good movie. I enjoyed it.
I just watched lawrence of arabia. Loved it.

I watched Brick tonight which was great. Joseph Gordon Levit is brilliant in everything he touches, maybe even GI Joe... Almost.

He is pretty rad. I liked all his movies a lot. Even Mysterious Skin was ok.

I couldn't get through Mysterious Skin. I think he's a great actor, but there's certain roles where he goes over the top in a not good way (unlike, say, in Killshot, where he went just over the top enough to be highly entertaining).
Last night I watched The Stoning of Soraya M. and oh em gee. I cried my face off. And I don't cry at movies. I thought it was a excellent, moving film.
I finally saw Black Dynamite, which was hilarious and just as good as I had hoped. It honestly had a lot more of a plot than I ever expected.

Watched Sherlock Holmes. It was alright, expected more, so I was slightly disappointed.
Planet of the Apes '68 tonight. Still an awesome ending no matter how many times I've seen it.

Most certainly. I absolutely love the original Planet of the Apes.

I just recently watched Extract (Mike Judge) and it had some pretty hilarious parts. There's an annoying neighbor that reminds me of a LOT of people I know.

I'm digging Luis Bunuel lately. Also, Kenji Mizoguchi is flawless.
I can't remember the last movie I've seen. Probably Avatar, but I'd like to think I've seen something within the last 4 months.
Oh, i quite liked Up In The Air, too, which i saw last night. Really happy about most of the choices made and how they didn't wrap it up romantically.
I'm so curious about Iron Man 2! Glad it was entertaining, wee.
I went to see The Thing and Kick-Ass with someone...was it you?
Aww, see, he only had eyes for you!
My friend made me watch Cabin Fever 2: Spring Fever. She said it was better than Cabin Fever but it was just horrible.
Urgh, I can't stop watching a film. Once I've started, no matter how bad it is I have to watch the whole film. Cabin Fever 2 was one. It actually makes Eli Roth's version look like a complete masterpiece of horror film making and I couldn't stand his either...
I saw Chloe a few nights ago, I still prefer the original French film but enjoyed this version too, Moore and the Mamma Mia woman(can never remember her name) were rather good choices.

Whoops, I knew something was missing. I enjoyed both of those, but there was at least a metric shit-ton of things I enjoyed during that trip...
Also, I'd watched The Man From Earth the other day. I'd totally forgotten about that, too. Of all these, Kick-Ass was the best.
I've had The first two Godfather movies sitting at my house from Netflix for over 10 days now. I might give the first one a go tonight after work.

I'm going to see an advance screening of iron man 2 tomorrow. I heard from a friend that Rockwell's performance was excellent. Lookin forward to it!

Wow an adcance screening hours before it comes out. Impressive.

haha i know, but I would never see a midnight showing with school the next morning. I enjoyed the movie, but it wasn't quite as good as the first one. There were some great performances, especially Sam Rockwell, Jon Favreau, and Clark Gregg. But Greg didn't have enough Also, for you comic book fans, there's a fun bit at the credits which hinted toward the next Marvel Movie.
One more thing. This trailer was played before the movie, and I think it looks pretty awesome.
Thoughts?

They're talking about Hangar 18 up at Wright-Pat. I've been there before.
Ironman 2 walked a thin line between needless and rediculous but still was really awesome. i don't really want to give anything away just yet.

I liked it, but it didn't blow me away. I got really tired of the needless face shield opening in the middle of combat.
I finally saw the end of Observe and Report and I thought it was hilarious. I totally called the ending right before and didn't stop laughing for like the last 15 minutes of it.

I was bored and digging through my dad's DVD collection and finally decided to rewatch The Bourne Supremacy, because I caught a bit of The Bourne Identity a few weeks ago and forgot how good it was. So I put the DVD in, and turned on the TV, and was immediately caught by The Million Dollar Hotel on IFC. I missed the first 6 or so minutes, but I sat through the rest of it, thinking the entire time that this must have been made by some fucked up 25 year old kid who somehow convinced people to give him money to make this really weird, but bizarrely awesome movie, and then when the credits rolled I saw it was directed by motherfucking Wim Wenders. I've only seen two of his features, which were made nearly 20 years from each other, and they were both fantastic. (The other being Paris, Texas, obviesely...)
I want to see more Wim Wenders films...I've only seen Paris, Texas and Wings Of Desire, both of which I loved.
Great films I've seen over the past few weeks:
Ex-Drummer
Milk
Bombon El Perro

I've spoken to two people who've seen Ex-Drummer, and neither one could comment much beyond, it's really messed up. I push for details and never seem to get 'em, help me out here. Gimme the scoop.

I love Million Dollar Hotel. I think Mel Gibson and Bono are the ones that really got that movie off the ground, if that's not a weird enough combination.
I remember a couple years ago trying to get morey to watch it to see how it matched up to his crazy hotel stories.
I love that Jeremy Davie's girlfriend in the movie is named Eloise.

Yeah, it's messed up. At certain moments it skirts 'shocking for shocking's sake' but for the mostpart I still really liked it. Fucking great soundtrack too. Not sure what else to tell you without getting all spoiler-y. I know it's based on a book but I haven't read it; I wouldn't mind checking it out.

Well, down the street about five minutes, not in the hangar.

I was watching parts of Synecdoche, New York again trying to figure it out and I just wanted to post about how great this monologue is. It really made the movie for me.

I think we can all agree that Killer Klowns From Outer Space is the finest piece of Cinema since The Days Of Wine And Roses.
i can't wait for Inception. The latest trailer makes me really appreciate the effects they are using. They look like actual things are happening, not just CGI.

^^Agreed. Plus, the cast is awesome

I truly can't wait for this. I haven't anticipated a movie coming out as much as I have for this one since probably Matrix 2.
Well that one worked out well for you, didn't it?
Sho'Nuff!
Please, get all spoilery for me, cause that's been the sum of what everyone has to say about it, when I ask.

Mon oh man! Just flipping through the channel guide to see what's on and find them playing A Boy and His Dog on one of the Showtime channels. Hot Damn! What a cool movie!

It's certainly a perplexing movie. I came away not really knowing what to think about it. There're so many meta-levels that my mind couldn't really hold it all together. Despite it's layering and structural difficulties, i quite liked it. Or, was able to like and appreciate it after a few days of digestion.
I plan on watching it again in the near future.
