luke wilson, owen wilson, gene hackman, angelica bridges, gwyneth paltrow, ben stiller, those are some big names. and royal tenenbaums is one of my faves ever. just because its an all star cast it doesnt cast it out as a bad movie. who knows it will be good.

but rehashing the cast of one of the all time most boring movies ever, the royal POS, they were just asking for problems...
and i have to admit, that trailer that they had at his site was bad...really bad.
boring, what did u expect from RT an edge of your seat thriller, why cant anybody see that, yeah it moves slow, and its funny thats all i hear from people is its boring, well WTF were u expecting? but the intimate portrait of a family, even if it is fake, was an awesome film.

I couldn't find a thing redeeming about that film. It was billed to me as hilarious, innovative, etc.
What I saw was my life slowing waste away in front of my very eyes. I tried to laugh. I just couldn't.
But if that slow moving shit is your liking, that's great. My girlfriend shares your thoughts about it. She loves it. I just can't stand it...
i see, yeah its hilarious, in a satirical dark humour kind of way. like when hes talking to eli and hes like oh sorry, ive been on mescaline all day, just little things, but there thrown about through the movie, and the acting is awesome. sorry u didnt like it

It exists of and for subtle jokes. I loved the movie because of it, but I suppose I can see why some people wouldn't get it.

I'm not sure I follow exactly what you're trying to hit me with.
By 'get it' I didn't mean he didn't understand the joke. I meant he didn't understand the humour, or why it was supposed to be funny. Obviously he (and other people of course) didn't, because he hated the movie with a fury, and obviously a number of people did, because they were laughing at it throughout.

dylan is genius plain and simple masked and anonymous plugged or unplugged hes all good all the time and damn EPONYMOUS you hit those royal tenenbaum qoutes right on the head those are the best but you gotta also love gene hackmans jive talkin it makes the movie 'scrappin and yellin' 'mixin it up' lovin every minute with this damn crew' and the best subtlety is angelica huston damn when margot reveals shes been a smoker for 22 years etheline just quietly says well i think you should quit that was the best!!

To me, that is what seperated it from being a good movie. Yes, we all have a certain sense of humor and if I'm in a room with 10 people and eight people didn't laugh at a joke I'm wondering what the other two people were thinking to laugh at the joke.
I own RT and have watched it numerous times to try and figure out why those 2 people did laugh and I didn't. I'm following right along with the story, the dark humor, whatever. I love mostly all (except Owen Wilson who should be exiled) of the actors in that movie, which makes it even more of a letdown that for me that movie porks. It's just outright blah to me.
But hey man, it's cool. No harm no foul. There's a ton of movies, and music, I like that I catch a lot of flack for.
