My friend Ian just got back from shooting this, and two of the gangsters in one of the scenes are now in Nepali prison for attacking people with kukris. I've seen a good amount of the raw footage, and I am very much looking forward to seeing the finished product.

When I saw the thread title I half thought it was going to be about this:
Scripted film, sorta. There is a bit of dialogue improv, and it's in Nepali so it'll be translated once it's final cut and subtitled.
My friend wrote and directed, and brought along with him a sound guy and a DP. They did auditions and paid people in food and drink. Some of the local leaders of the YCL/Youth Communist League are in the film playing people not unlike themselves. There's not really a functioning government there right now, its like police and gangs, and makes for a unique world.

Yeah, this looks pretty interesting. I wonder what kind of a release it's going to get. Do you know, Giggan? Have they got a distributor or anything?
It's going to be tried on the film fest circuit. I think initially it'll get screenings in NH, Massholechusetts, and Nepal.
