List your breakup songs/music
What songs/genre do you listen to when you get dumped? Go ahead and list them. I'll start, since your songs will most likely suck:
I listen to power ballads. That's just how I roll. Here are a few favorites:
"I Remember You" by Skid Row
"Wasted Time" by Skid Row
"Every Rose Has its Thorn" by Poison
...I'll think of more. It's been a while.
sebastian bach fan?
elliott smith - twilight
radiohead - true love waits
michael jackson - billie jean. not because its a good break-up song necessarily, but because its a sweet song
and anything sigur ros
I don't have any particular songs that I would choose to put on ( i'm a big blues fan so I have a library of sad music ) for the saddest of sad moments but there are a couple that always bring back memories from past relationship downfalls.
Tom Petty - Free falling, optomistic I supose.
Inxs - Never tear us apart, I remember hearing this after my second major heartbreak and thinkin, yeah I used to think that, sob, sob.
Rolling Stones - Wid horses. Was mine and a girls private our song type thing, I would torture myself in the way only the broken hearted can by listening to it after we split, wot a fuckin tosser I am.
Ugly Kid Joe - Everything about you, It was a decision between myself and an all round beuatiful girl to have this as our song ( we shared the same aense of humour and when asked if we had a song we both replied the same ) When I hear this it reminds me what a total shitheel I am capable of being.
If I had a gun right now I would shoot myself.
Its not how hard ya rock, its how well ya roll.
I fixed it for you, Gerardo.

Jeff Buckley, especially Last Goodbye.
Next time I get dumped by a girl, "Hallelujah" will definitely be in heavy rotation.
Also, you are so 1337 right now.
Oh yes, Hellelujah is a wonderful song to be sad to.
Another one for me is "When I'm thinking about you" by The Sundays.
Stones taught me to fly, Love taught me to lie, Life taught me to die break up: Cannonball by Damien Rice

1. The fleshy part of either side of the face below the eye and between the nose and ear.
2. Something resembling the cheek in shape or position.
3. Either of the buttocks.
4. Impertinent boldness: had the cheek to insult his hosts.
I won't let this die.
The it's not you, it's me break up: Creep by Radiohead
http://youtube.com/watch?v=nxpblnsJEWM
The what was break up: Let It Die by The Foo Fighters
http://youtube.com/watch?v=LFS5gd35LzU
I played both of these songs at once and it ended up being a decent mash up. Start Creep approximately 12-13 seconds after Let It Die starts. In the beginning the predominant band is Radiohead but as the songs play on The Foo Fighter's start taking over. It's cool... to me anyway.
Every Man has a Molly by Say Anything. Too lazy to find a youtube clip. Not too lazy to find lyrics though:
Here I am, laid bare at the end of my rope. I've lost all hope So long Molly Connelly just broke up with me over the revealing nature of the songs. You goddamn kids had best be gracious with the merch money you spend because for you I won't ever have rough sex with Molly Connelly again. Here I am, laid down at the end of my rope, wishing I had not been born. Now I've spewed too much. I can never shut it up. I thought you should be warned and I Implied black sky took the needle to my eye and sucked out all its glow. Ohh Ohh! Molly Connelly ruined my life, I thought the world should know. Ohh! I can't stop thinking about what she did wrong to me. I can't figure out just what I did wrong. I'll kill myself thinking about the things that you did to me, Molly Connelly. Can't stop thinking about what she did wrong to me. Just can't figure out just what I did wrong. Kill myself thinking about, things that you did to me, Molly, Connelly, Can't stop thinkin' bout Just can't figure her out. Kill myself thinking 'bout, My Molly, Connelly. Can't stop thinkin 'bout (I can't stop thinkin' 'bout it) Just can't figure out (I won't stop thinking 'bout it) Kill myself thinking 'bout (I'll kill myself! I'll kill myself! I'll kill myself!) Molly Connelly
Because I love. I, who am not loved in return. I have a love that is far deeper than the empty gasps and convulsions of brutish coupling. Shall I speak of her? Shall I speak of my bride? She has no eyes to flirt or promise. But she still sees all. Sees and understands with a wisdom that is god-like in its scale. I stand at the gates of her intellect and I am blinded by the light within. How stupid I must seem to her. How child-like and uncomprehending. Her soul is clean, untainted by the snares and ambiguities of emotion. She is untouched by joy or sorrow. I worship her though I am not worthy. I cherish the purity of her disdain. She does not respect me. She does not fear me. She does not love me. They think she is hard, and cold, those who do not her. They think she is lifeless and without passion. They do not know her. She has not touched them. She touches me, and I am touched by God, by destiny. The whole of existence courses through her. I worship her. I am her slave. No freedom ever was so sweet.
okay, that was in proper lyric format when I posted it, but now it's smush. Whatevs.

Gwar? Seriously? I can't imagine any situation for which Gwar is appropriate.
Just about anything by the Counting Crows...
anything off of Recovering the Satellites
This ones Catapult... but Im Not Sleeping or Perfect Blue Buildings are excellent break up songs. I listened to this band for about a week straight after a terrible breakup- most of the time was spent soaking in a bubble bath while my roommate had to use the bathroom next door. But Im a freak when it comes to this band so I could really listen to them any old time.

"Daddy doesn't want to hear Baby's ideas about dildos."
She'll kill herself for loving you and you'll kill yourself for loving her... but all you want to do is love eachother.
