OMFG sweet, I really liked that song a lot. The only KMFDM albums I've really listened to are their two most recent, Adios and Attak, and I love them both, and this one sounds really promising. Looks like I'll be buying a cd on the 23rd.

What do you know Deutschland? is the title.. It was their first album (1986), so yeah..

yeah, that's what popular, knowledgable opinion has dictated, but I still think it has it's good points, like Urban Monkey Warfare, and Save Me to name a couple. I really should check out more of their older stuff, but I never get around to dling it on kazaa.

Tim Skold is fucking great. I mean, En Esch was rad, too, but I like Skold a lot. Some of his solo stuff from beforehand is pretty good.

Nihil is the definitive kmfdm album, but personally I prefer Angst. It's got the cool metal feel, and blends nicely with the older funk sound.
As for Skold, I'm glad he's been reduced to a robot in Marilyn Manson. KMFDM was lagging when he was a member.

No offense, but I can't believe you would put Naive and Xtort in the same catagory! Xtort is easily the worst KMFDM album.

Er, they got rid of Skold? Aw... Didn't even know. Guess so, he's not on the little flashing member list on their site anymore.

And how were they lagging when he was with them? They only made one album with him - Attak. You make it sound like it was awhile, but maybe you just meant that one album...

As for favorite albums, I'd probably pick Adios & Symbols. Naive & Nihil are up there, too.

Full Worm Garden - Got Ogre from Skinny Puppy doing the vocals. Great fucking song.
Adios & Godlike, too.

Oooh, and I just found out Skinny Puppy's going to put out a new album. Woah.

Actually, Skold was on Attak, Adios, Symbols and the MDFMK album.

IMO, Symbols is the only of the 4 that I would highly recomend. And go figure, it was the last one with Gunter and Esch.

The new Skinny Puppy on the other hand is gonna rule. Have you heard Optimissed from the Underworld soundtrack yet? I need to go get some tissues.

I'm no KMFDM buff, so yeah..

I got the story confused I guess.. I thought that when they left, KMFDM broke up and then Sascha reformed it into MDFMK and brought Skold in... Oops.

I should know better, seeing as I actually know Sascha. Heh, it was crazy, a friend of mine was like "hey, my friend Sascha is coming down for the weekend. You know, the guy from KMFDM?"

Cool guy. He spent awhile outside talking to the neighbors kids... Parents eventually came and were like "hey kids.. you need to come home"

And the greatest story.. He said one time he was out with a friend, and some guys start making fun of his mohawk or something... So he walks up to the guy, spits in the palm of his hand and slaps him across the face. The guy just stands there and doesn't say anything for a moment, then walks off. That's fucking awesome.

and re: skinny puppy - yeah, I just dl'd it a few minutes ago; very nice. that soundtrack should be pretty good, it's got that agent provocateur song on it, too... Need to find what else...

Also: What exactly is wrong with Skold? Was he involved int he production and fucking that up or something? Or do you just dislike his voice?

Actually, I don't really dislike Skold. But it seems that when he was involved with KMFDM the band did thier worst stuff.

I'd guess it had more to do with the absence of Esch & Gunter?

Skold's participation started outweighing En's and Guenter's, and KMFDM's sound got a little shitty (in my opinion). MDFMK was crap. It's funny how now that he's gone, WWIII is supposed to be their best.

Well, I'm not sure why their sound got worse with him.. I can see what you're saying, but I don't know why he had much to do with it.. I thought he just did vocals, and I like his voice, so yeah... Then again, I've proven to be pretty ignorant about this subject already...
