Japanese Horror is good!
Just trying to see who actually watches movies like:
Ichii the killer
Ringu
Ringu2
Ringu 0
Battle Royale <~~~~My fav.
Dark water
i fucking hate animae
I could never get into the Ring movies but I love Ichi The Killer (and most other Takashi Miike films) and Battle Royale....
some other cool ones are: Pinnochio964, Rubber's Lover, Tetsuo I and II, Gemini, Tokyo Fist, Tastiest Flesh, Evil Dead Trap, Organ, Rapeman (one of the most offensive black comedies in Monty Python style vain ever made!), Centipede Horror (mostly just for the clips of real people puking up real meal worms/Centipedes all for the sake of being in a movie). Another Heaven, and the list goes on and on....
This entire genre seems to be love it or hate it, my standpoint is in the first of the two.
I am always getting tapes and tapes of this stuff, a lot of which I own but have never watched. I am a Jap Junkie.
"Excuse me sir, Did you wash your hands after you took that big heaping dump. You know that sign, that sign says ALL employees MUST wash their hands after using the restroom, What part of that do you not understand?"- Malcom X
"Would you care to lick my sweaty baulz after they have been dipped in the finest venerial juices and sauteed in my own ass-sweat, madam?"- Winston Churchill
I fucking hate Anime too.

anime and fucking asian horror are brutal and fucking stupid
Two words:
Bukkake, and Scat.
There's your japanese horror.
LOLHAHAHAHAHAHROTFLMAO!!!!!!!!11!!22
Japanese horror rocks. If you like THE RING, rent Hideo Nakata's follow-up film "Dark Water."
As for Ichi the Killer, you MUST see the director, Takashi Miike's other films. I have a whole section on this website where I recommend the friggin guy:

Do yourself a favor and check it out.
Wanna have the pants scared off you in 90 seconds?
Watch 'Laundry Day', my new horror short:
Battle Royale, sweet-ass movie. most of the time i didn't know if i should laugh because the senario is so hilarious, or take it seriously like a horror movie. either way, one of the best movies i've seen in quite some time.
I'm not really into anime either but I love japanese horror.
Its just so raw and uncersored.
Imagine films like guinea pig or suicide circle being made for the usa. They would suck ass
I did like the US version of the Ring.
k before i go bashing again about how fucking stupid asian horror is, i have the slightest interest in what the fuck battle royal is, so out with it. explain it to me, cause i know you lil asin-horror lovers probably know the scenario off by heart
quoted form imdb.com
"Ninth grade students are taken to a small isolated island with a map, food and various arms. They have to fight each other three days long until the last one remains and are forced to wear a special collar which will explode when they break a rule"
this sounds like some fucked up version of Lord of the Flies. k dont tell me naythign about this movie anymore cause it sounds like pure shit and in all honesty, i dont thik i could trust any of your statements considerring you've all jumpped on a bandwagon and actually like this shit
wow. exactly what movies have you actually seen to give you such a strong opinion against it?
im really sorry actually lol i was ina rush to reply quickly with "sorry for beign such an ass considerrin that whole post was directed to robotpuking" so i am sorry everyone and i take back all that i have said. but i still really hate asian horror for one reason, the ring
everyone jumpped on this huuuuge bandwagon to the "most scariest movie of our time" and all this other hsit, when in all honesty the movie was shit. granted it was interesting, but it wasnt scary and i thought the idea was fucking dumb. everyones going on ad on with this movie and how its so scary, when in reality i bet they havnt seen a single, real, good horror movie in their life
is that the only asian horror movie that you've seen? and do you hate the remake or the original? which did you see first?
well i must admit im being a scapegoat here because i saw the remake and its what totally turned me off of the whole asian horror thing to begin with
was scapegoat the right word?
did you actually see the original though?
and i dont know if scapegoat was the right word, but i get what you mean...
no i didnt, im soryr to say cause i really do try to be open to horror movies not really carign about the difference between b movie and a, and foreign and domestic. but the ring, the hype, the ditsy blondes saying "ohhhh its soo scary" and their dumbass boyfriends agreeing, well its all turned me right off of asian horror
it just really pisses me off when morons down actual good, original horror movies like jeepers creepers (i wont gointo it, its in 'you favourite horror films') meanwhile theyre all up for these bandwagon remakes
i heard that jeepers creepers was good, but i have not seen it, therefore, i will not talk about it...
but, i suggest that you do the same when it comes to jap horror. i understand your frustration w/ everyone jumping on the bandwagon, but that is a silly reason to hate something as much as you do. take your aggression out on the stupid kids, not the movies...
battle royale is awesome. you should really check it out, try to view it with an open mind, then come back and bitch about it if you don't like it. but don't start going off before you see the movie.
hmm well said, iwas just pissed cause jeepers was being dissed, well i was thinkin about downlaoding battle roayle, but its in subtitles, and on the computer the screen is small enough without having to read subtitles that are 5 times smaller than what they are on normal screens
buuuuuuut i guess i can give it a try
hooray! see what a little friendly discussion can do people! knoxville's gonna give it a try! whoo-hoo! i would jump for joy, but i am in the library, and i think they would shoot me.
and since you are being such a swell guy, i will go rent jeepers creepers and post my thoughts.
perhaps, there is a lil' will tupper in us all.
much love, knoxville.
i cant help but smile lol k here goes, downloading wont be done for a while caus eim gettin a bunch of house of 1000 corpses songs, but as soon as the movies done, i'll tell you guys what i thought, i better not like it though. cause toronto is the the only close place to me (which isnt even that close) that sells asian-horror, so if get hooked on the stuff and haveta spend 3 hours in traffic every friday to buy some new asian-horror, well i have you guys you to blame small fire!!!
Trust me you will like Battle royale.
I wanted to see Jeepers creepers but for some reason i didn't.
I shall download it also.
another recomendation that's non-horror but asian would be
Shaolin soccer
I fucking hated the ring, the ring 2, and the ring remake but those (2 of them) movies aren't the entire genre. They got a very wide range of weird flicks, I wouldn't call them scary exactly but they are great to kill 90 minutes on.
But one thing if you ever do see any Asian horror flicks I strongly suggest that you do NOT see any of the movies from the Guinea Pig series unless you just want and hour of splatter with no plot. They are one of the most hyped about heaps of crap from japan (even Charlie Sheen some how has seen one of them) and they would probably turn most new commers to the genre off...,
but then again as I have mentioned before Asian Horror is love it or leave it (or maybe it is just an acquired taste).

lol, I just d/l and watched guinea pig 2, the dude in the samurai suit was very creepy.
The movie pretty much sucked

No offense to the movie, but for your information, Jeepers Creepers was directed by a convicted pedophile. Victor Salva, who brought us such crap as Powder, was arrested after making his first film for video taping himself making the 13 year old actor give him a blow job. In fact, when putting out an ad for child extras on Jeepers Creepers, by law, they had to say the film was being directed by a sex offender. You should look those ads up, they almost seem like jokes. "Extras wanted between the ages of 10-13 for a film to be directed by a man who did time for sexual abusing a child."
Also, it is common knowledge that Hollywood always fucks up good foreign or old movies by remaking. You really shouldn't judge an entire film movement based solely on a crappy Hollywood remake of one specific title from that genre. Hating it simply because of the bandwagon is more or less the same principle as liking something because of the bandwagon. You are still making judgements based on what other people think. Watch the films for yourself and form your own opinion. Talking down about something that you have never experienced yourself is like going to battle with an empty gun. This is not meant to sound mean. I know tone is hard to read on the interenet, so I hope you don't take it that way. This is just my 2 cents on the issue.
thats sounds like the biggest crock of shit ever
but thanks at least for cinsiderring my feelings for the movie with the "no offense" lol (thats wasnt sarcasim, really....thanks)
It's a matter of public record, my friend. Look up the director online. You'll find a wealth of articles about "the incident."

Watch 'Laundry Day', my new horror short:
shyte really? oh well, even the Mona Lisa is falling apart
lol just realised this D_Prest, the corck o' shit was about the movie thinger. but i totally got what you said about remakes and took it as it was meant to be taken
Hey, knoxville, if you have any interest, you can read all about Victor Salva here. Click on the 2000 update for the Jeepers Creepers ads. The link below is for Andrew Vachss' website. Vachss is an author of crime fiction in addition to a children's attorney.

i stand corrected. still, cant deny that the movie wasnt a good one
I can't deny it because I never saw it. Well, I could, but...we already went over that issue. I actually plan on seeing it this week. I saw the trailer for the 2nd one and thought it looked kinda cool, so I'm gonna rent me the first one this week.
its good, its really out there and stands at the line of believable and unbelievable

on a scale of 1 to 10 jeepers creepers gets 4
the logic(or lack thereof) just pissed me off.
Trish:
"You know the part in horror movies when somebody does something really stupid, and everybody hates him for it? This is it."
my thoughts exactly...
done
Okay, Knox, so I saw Jeepers Creepers. I enjoyed the first 45 minutes when suspense was building and we weren't sure what was going on. After we were let in on just what was happening, I felt it became standard fare for awhile. A monster movie and I didn't like the monster. So the second half went downhill for me, although, I felt the ending was a pleasant surprise (which I wont go into for those planning to see it). I worry about the sequel now. The sequel cannot have the mysterious opening the original had, since we all already know the back story. We'll probably just launch right into monster madness.
This is the same principle that has me wondering what we all have in store with the Matrix 2. I love the first half of the Matrix where we are given surreal scenes and we aren't sure if this is a dream or what. But the first one leaves off with Neo realizing he is the one. He can stop bullets, he can fly. I know they will up the ante in the 2nd one, but I don't want two more hours of action. Don't get me wrong, I love the effects in the first one and the action is great, but that is the climax to a movie that had so much more going on leading up to that final scene of madness. So I really hope they do something good with the story other than just a continuing battle.
Hey, I liked Powder...
well with jeepers 2 if you've seen the preview, everyone i think has an idea that somehtings up, and its more of a matter of being prepared for the tornado, rather than just worrying about it. you can get what im saying when you see the beginning of the preview, a kid putting up scare crows. the creepers is there and the dad seems to know whats up.
but what you said about it being a monster movie is correct. its just that, a monster movie. personally i think its the best monster movie out there. compared to the other monste rones out there (darkness falls...pfffft) its really good. good monster. good setting. good story.
i saw most of battle roayale, and yes it was good. me being the ignorant dumbass i am i thought it was gonna be like all the other asian movies i see on tv with people over expressing their emotions and zero acting ability with a story that makes piss all for sense. but it was pretty good! i only got to see like half of it cause my comp fucked up and i had to reboot the comp and erase everything, but from what i saw it was good. i love the idea thouogh, an awesome satire (correct word?) on reality tv where people are pitted on an island forced to make alliances but in the end, eveyrone knows there can only be one winner.

Yeah, I watched Jeepers Creepers back to back with Darkness Falls and Jeepers was the better film by far.
Speaking of sequels and Battle Royale, the trailer for battle Royale II is online. You should check it out.
can you post the link? i found a really short 10 sec teaser, but it had no sound...
thats why so many people didnt like it i think. cause there hasnt been any monster movies recently when it came out and everyone was expecting too much from it
the link for the BR2 trailer is:
