Is punk dead?

blink is pop punk. romanes is punk. of course romanes has the upper advantage cause they are classics and back in their hay day there werent double standards. every genre has a couple faces. there the real version of the music, and the pussy version. the real version are ofund usually to be a bit less famous and played, and liked by usually older audiences (with age comes wisdom and taste). pussy version is for the younger audiences. something they can identify with without having to look too deep into the lyrics, an easy fix.

i think most people realized being punk just isnt that cool, therefore yes i think it's dead, real punk anyway

Yes, punk is dead. There hasn't been a good punk band since Rancid.

If punk isn't completely dead yet, it's at least dying a slow bloody death because of pop punkasses like Simple Plan, Good Charlotte, etc. and the twits who listen to 'em.

Punk as an anti-authority movement doesn't seem to be faring too well these days, either. If anyone wants to still follow the punk "ideal," they should get an MBA degree, infiltrate a big corporation that's spewing evil on the world and rip it apart from the inside out.

totally. back before some actal hardcore punk girl friends of mine graduated. they did soem AFI devil painting on the school wall (with permission) and another cartoony self portrait of the 3 of them. no joke as soon as they graduated they painted over the murals and allowed some fucking pussy punk chiks who think theyre so hard core to paint a good charolette painting, and get this. with the song lyrics of the little thigns. making them all sound so deep, mysterious and so not part of the crowd/ fuck i wanna go throw a bucket of paint over it all. maybe paint over it with a big wrist that has slashes and rusty razor blade in it

and then paint chuck quotes on it and make em sound deep and mysterious

that or a big "you are not your pussy punk bands" or "sticking feathers up your but does not make you a chicken. listenning to crappy bands does not make you hardcore"

I think Punk is pretty much dead.

I haven't heard a recent good punk band yet. Then again, it'd be a bit weird if the music industry regugitated itself all over again, with amazing bands like The Clash.

It is so rare that I find a new band that I truly like. I'm just re-discovering old bands. When I really think about it, there's no new band which puts any of my favourite old bands to shame.

totally, which is why i dont think punk is dead. the distillers arent too new but theyre still new enough yet i like em. but also too thyene not that popular. there are too many double standards. lets name some good punk bands
