Yeah I caught this in St. Louis. Going into it I was a huge Lynch fan (still am but I'm sure you can guess where this is going) but this is his most boring venture to date. The entire movie has nice bookends so no matter what happens you can easily explain away any strangeness. The story was almost nonexistent and the acting made me want to cry. I don't want to get into any detail and spoil it but really this is something you should just wait for on DVD. Afterward I read a few interviews where he confessed that he would write the script each day as they filmed it... this is painfully obvious. His last two films were mildly confusing but at least held a story, this is just random images in sequence... kind of.

Again, huge Lynch fan, I love his early work and even most of his short films. I'm definitely not one of the kids that walks out saying, "That was so confusing, what the hell happened?" or "That was so great just because it confused everyone else." I just think he's taken 'experimental' in the wrong direction with this one. He's capable of greater things.

On a lighter note, he's distributing the entire thing himself which is a ballsy move and I commend him for it. He's an inspiration to a lot of people and it's good to see filmmakers taking this kind of thing into their own hands whether it be DVD's or online distribution.

yeah and at 3 hours long I was definitely getting fidgety. I love David Lynch too so couldn't not see this at the cinema. Part of me loved it but I'm gonna buy it on dvd. Or probably even watch again to be honest.
There are awesome moments, and some that are just terrifying, but I couldn't explain the film and it's just too 'random' / 'bizarro' for the sake of it that it was pretty crazy even for Lynch.
If you're a fan then go see it because I just don't really know what to tell you about it!
