They're definetely not for everyone. I don't like a lot of their stuff. But man, they can play their shit really, really good.
I know what you mean. Even though i love they're style, certain albums i just cant get to like them. Awake, six degrees of inner turbulence and Ytse jam being among them. But others like images and words, falling into infinity, scenes from a memory, a change of seasons are just perfect from the first to the last song.
Yeah Yeah Yeahs- Tell Me What Rockers To Swallow
Just the audio of the main concert on my iPod.
Gets so much play.
So good.

I've been waiting for this album to come out for a while, and it finally did, back in October. Somehow I didn't know about it until last week. The songs sound slightly different than the versions I have on my PC, but overall I like the album a lot.
Shit, I only own like 80 albums overall and my freinds think I am nuts. But than again, I have a music addict for a buddy who believes he is still not complete with three guitars, two basses, a drum set and 300 albums.
I've got going-on 400 albums, and I still feel like I haven't scratched the surface of what music is, or understanding it. It was just a couple of years ago that I started buying non-punk and non-hip-hop stuff. I'm just getting started.
In fact, I just bought "Pleased to Meet Me" by the Replacements today, and I only have two of their records. What a shame! I need to pick up the rest, along with the Frank Black albums I don't have. Too bad I got no money.

Hell yeah. Hell of a tune, that. I also really love the one that comes after it called "I Don't Know." No one ever really mentions that one when talking about that record, but it might be my favorite. It's kinda "dumb," I guess you might say, but it rocks out.

Oh, and speaking of Devo from a while back, I just stocked up on those 2-on-1 CD import CDs that they made. I already had "Freedom of Choice," but I lost it, and I didn't have "Oh No! It's Devo!," "Duty Now..." or "New Traditionalists." I havne't had "Q: Are We Not Men..." for a while either - since my Napster free trial - so I need to get that.
Anyway, I think my favorite of those that I have is "New Traditionalists." It's got a nice balance of the old super-weird Devo mixed with the poppier "Freedom-era" Devo. My favorite song, however, is "Big Mess" from "Oh No!"

I LOVE that soundtrack I listen to it all the time and often find myself singing the "go to sleep" and the down to the water songs.
