I need a new tv series to devourrrr.
So I've had some time on my hands (and means to "obtain" anything I want to watch) and feel like i've consumed everything I can think of. Recently I've watched all episodes of the following:
The Sopranos
Dexter
30 Rock (favorite)
Breaking Bad
Lost (no comment)
Entourage
Curb Your Enthusiasm
*12 Oz. Mouse (if you haven't watched this... i'm sorry)
Flight of the Conchords
Eastbound & Down (2nd fav)
It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia
How I Met Your Mother
Mr. Show w/ Bob & Dave
Sons of Anarchy
The Thick of It
Upright Citizens Brigade
I'm at an impasse and need your help! Throw me some ideas on where to go from here if you've got 'em. Anything funny, noisy, obscure, etc..
Pretty please?
*I'm actually planning a tattoo based on the show:

"Undaunted, I knew the game was mine to win. Just like in life, all of my successes depend on me. I'm the man who has the ball, I'm the man who can throw it faster than fuck. So that is why I am better than everyone in the world. Kiss my ass and suck my dick. Everyone."

West Wing or The Wire.
You know in all the years I've been here I've never been sigged?
At the moment, the only show I look forward to weekly is Burn Notice. Bruce Campbell co-stars. Need I say more?
I do? Well, it's about a spy who is framed for certain crimes and is therefore "burned" (blacklisted). The overall story throughout the series is him trying to find out who burned him. It's basically the A-Team only it takes itself more seriously and he and his friends use ex-spy skills to help everyday people instead of ex-military skills like the A-Team (well actually on Burn Notice they use ex-military tips too). Bottomline, it's freaking cool.
12oz mouse is great. I wish I could recommend something but I'm fresh out of ideas.
That's funny because for over a year now I've been buying complete series of television shows and devout my entire time to that TV show. I've noticed how every tv show has a recurring joke in every episode. Heres a list of the shows:
*Friends
*I Love Lucy
*Roseanne
*Fraiser
*How I Met Your Mother
*Big Bang Theory
*Everybody Loves Raymond
*3rd Rock From the Rock
*The Munsters
*The Mary Tyler Moore Show
*Keeping Up Appearances
*Little Britain

"There’s no use in denying it: this has been a bad week. I’ve started drinking my own urine." -Patrick Bateman
The Shield
yes and yes, and i'm going to go ahead and add Deadwood to the pile. it's fucking badass.
Twin Peaks and The Wire.
i haven't seen The Wire yet. i should, shouldn't i?
also: The Mighty Boosh, Black Books, The Young Ones and Arrested Development.
It's not a sitcom or anything, but Tosh.0 is hilarious. Comedy Central.

Go to your vidoe store and rent season one of Deadwood. It's literary genius, beauty, and brutality--set to outstanding language.
The writing is sublime and the acting does not get any better. It's very Shakespearian, yet epic.
Deadwood is one of those series that some people either love or hate, and all for the same reasons. Watch an episode and that sentence will make sense.
Great Deadwood moments:
The Fringe man, its one of my favorite shows.

If you like Sci-Fi also check out Caprica:

Burn Notice it entertaining, kind of like MacGyver meets international spies. And its got Bruce Campbell in it which makes it worth watching in itself.

Sparticus: Blood and Sand
United States of Tara
Party Down
Weeds
Pretty much anything on Showtime these days is gold.

I am going to second stuff that has been mentioned
- The Shield - When I got into it, I assumed it was a cop show, which I don't normally care for. In the first episode, it has cops killing another cop to cover up shit they are doing. AMAZING series great characters. Has one of the best endings of any TV series that I can recall.
- The Wire - A lot of people will tell you this is one of the best shows ever written. It is amazing and should be seen. What up, Bird?
- Deadwood - A fantastic western series. Lots of violence and gritty living. Love it.
- Damages - You'll think it is a legal procedural show. It isn't anything close to being one. The way the put a season of this together is mind-blowing and it does stuff you never expect. Plus, it has Ted Danson, and he rules.
absolutely Deadwood
also The Shield, The West Wing, Studio 60 On the Sunset Strip, The Mighty Boosh, Garth Merengi's Darkplace
Nice! Thanks for the suggestions so far.. keep them coming!
Picking up:
Californication (already have and love Mad Men!)
The Wire
Deadwood
The Fringe
Damages
Spartacus: Blood & Sand
I promise to hit every recommendation here! Thanks, guise

Another old series I just found that i used to love watching is Sports Night. Anyone remember that one? I remember someone saying it had no place on Comedy Central - which may have been correct, but I was enthralled.

True Blood - It's almost getting way too trendy for its own good these days, but it has an amazing talented cast. Honestly.
Weeds - Last season starts this summer. It's also probably the best show to watch during the summer.
Top Gear - It's a British car show, but even if you're not interested in cars, there are plenty of silly challenges that they do that prove to be really amusing. They also have a special challenge episode every "series"; one of my favourites is when they had to drive motorcycles all the way through Vietnam to "prove to the Americans that it was possible".
The Office - Still my favourite show. A few episodes will always brighten my day if I happen to wake up feeling like shit. The writing's going a bit downhill, but it's still worth a watch.

I think i saw an episode of this show where they took some old cars and decorated them with lots of gay propaganda and drove through the USA southern states provoking people? I laughed my ass off... am I thinking of the right show?

Yes, that is the same show. They also had lots of stuff like "NASCAR Sucks". It is a great show.
I definitely recommend Weeds. I stopped watching it because the main character's sluttiness and stupid decisions pissed me off too much, but it's entertaining.
I'm going to step in and highly suggest you don't waste time on Weeds. The few laughs don't make up for the rest of the series. I watched a bunch of it and one day it just clicked that I didn't even know why. You could probably condense all of Kevin Nealon's stuff into a 5 minute youtube video and be done with it.
Scrubs!
and I second The Office.

I second a good majority of these. A few that I really liked that haven't been recommended yet:
Dead Like Me
Carnivale
Oh, and Six Feet Under.

Wasn't that a great show? I can't believe it only lasted 2 seasons...
I tried to like Dead Like Me, I really did. But something about the cast was off and I just couldn't get into it.
I think it also hurt that it was a network show. The premise would have been so much better if it were on HBO or Showtime.
I feel the same way about Breaking Bad. I can't feel sorry for the main character AT ALL. Still a good show though.
Dead Like Me was a Showtime show, DUH.
Was it really a Showtime show? Shit, why the fuck was it so boring and tame then?

It was originally an Showtime show. And it re-aired on TV.
BROTHERHOOD - Gangster drama--somewhat derivative of THE SOPRANOS--about two brothers at the intersection of crime, family, and politics. Inspired by the life of Whitey Bulger. (First two seasons streamable on Netflix.) Starring: Jason Issacs, Jason Clarke, Ethan Embry
THE CORNER - HBO miniseries about drug addicts in Baltimore. Spiritual counterpart to THE WIRE, by the same creators. Starring: Clarke Peters, Glenn Plummer, Khandi Alexander
FAWLTY TOWERS - Classic British sitcom about an irascible hotelier. (Streamable on Netflix.) Starring: John Cleese, Connie Booth, Andrew Sachs
GENERATION KILL - HBO miniseries by Simon/Burns (THE CORNER, THE WIRE) about a Marine battalion during the invasion of Iraq. Starring: Alexander Skarsgard, James Ransone, Lee Tergesen
OZ - Prison drama that redefined HBO. (Stick to the first three-and-a-half seasons.) Starring: Terry Kinney, J.K. Simmons, Eamonn Walker, Dean Winters, Ernie Hudson
PARTY DOWN - A sitcom about caterers in Hollywood--an anti-ENTOURAGE of sorts. (Streamable on Netflix.) Starring: Ken Marino, Adam Scott, Lizzy Caplan
Also, I just watched the pilot of JUSTIFIED today, and I was fairly impressed. Seems like it will go down as another Elmore Leonard adaptation gone right.
Oz was a great show.
Do any of you people who like Dead Like Me also like that show Reaper? It was kinda dumb at times, but it was entertaining. Plus, Ray Wise as the Devil was a masterful piece of casting. Patton Oswalt pops up in a couple of episodes, too.

I always meant to watch that. But never did.

Oh yes, yes you are.
That episode was their Southern US special, one of my favourites.
Here's a challenge where they had to make their own "cheap" model police cars:

I enjoy United States of Tara too.

Carnivale was AWESOME. So infuriating that they ran out of funding and only got to season 2, THEN LIED about making a graphic novel series about it to make up for the loss of a good ending.
Six Feet Under is genius - not only is it dramatic and entertaining, it also has its spiritual moments. I also second The Office for comedy, but you should really try the original UK version with Ricky Gervais. It's subtler but more enjoyable, I think.
Not sure how silly you want to get, but since you've already entertained the idea of Weeds and Californication, how about The L Word or Nip/Tuck? Nip/Tuck in particular is pretty awful but it has its funny moments and can be addictive - at least the first couple of seasons. And L Word...well, if you're not a lesbian, it might not grab you, but I know several straight men who've enjoyed a few episodes of it
I also agree with The Wire, it's one of the greatest cop shows ever made, with The Shield possibly coming in second.
I think Carnivale simply must be mentioned again! It is honestly thematically and visually one of the most spectacular albeit short-lived shows of the last decade.
Also, The Unusuals. It was canceled after one season, but the entirety of it is on Hulu.com I think it's probably the only cop show I've ever truly enjoyed
I can't believe I have forgotten about Carnivale. Seriously amazing show. Made me fall in love with southern gothic style.
Has no one mentioned Pushing Daisies yet?
You know in all the years I've been here I've never been sigged?
how about
-party down
-head case
-the tudors
It might be super immature but Kenny vs. Spenny is so damn funny.
I'd put Lost on here, but, well...*sighs*
Burn Notice is pretty fun, but I've been losing interest because the whole time I find myself wondering how he NEVER gets noticed blowing up shit all across Miami, but as endlessmike said, yeah, it's got Ash. Groovy.
Arrested Development is one that I rented last winter and just loved the damn thing. Check it out.
If you haven't seen a little show called Breaking Bad, you should. It's surprising, because at first the idea of a high school teacher who gets cancer so decides to cook top-of-the-line crystal meth to provide for his family after he dies seems a little limited for a series, but trust me: it's not. The third season just ended, and on a real cliffhanger, too.
Doctor Who: if you're the kind of person that would be into it, you'd probably already know about it. Matt Smith's current run as the Doctor is kicking ass.
FUBU and KFC have anounced their move to combine forces and fullyn focus on targeting more 'ethnic' audiences. In other news, McDonalds, Starbucks and Wal-Mart have combined to become The United Corporate of America. Moving on...

Californication and Mad Men.
