Films you hate no matter what anyone says.
What films do you absolutely hate, to the MAX, no matter what arguments you hear defending them? My list is as follows:
Kissed- It's disgusting, I don't care if it's acclaimed or not.
The Idiots- Most annoying film ever.
In the Bedroom- Is there a longer, more boring film? I doubt it.
The Big Lebowski- I wish I liked it, but it was so quirky and offbeat, the whole thing smacks of effort.
Hmm?
I liked the Princess Diaries, I have the DVD and everything.
Films that I hate. These are films that I hate no matter what anyone says.

What? Godammit you're making a mockery of the thread.
no sir, just pointing out what i sees it
A Clockwork Orange. sorry, i don't see the genius.

Wow. This little thread got CRAZY. People telling me to abuse my girlfriend, people showing an alarming lack of respect for women as a whole, people questioning my masculinity in some kind of bizarre machoistic pissing-contest. Hell, I even got called stuffy.
HUZZAHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!
*dances around a streetlight while it's raining*
I though I was the only one!
If that was the first Kubrick movie I'd ever seen....well let's just say that I'd never have seen any of his other movies.
a clockwork orange the movie did suck, the book was spectacular
this seems to be the impression i'm getting as well.
but i'm sorry, the thing abotu ACO is that i understand the point it's trying to make, but i don't think it makes it. basically what it comes down to for me is that there's no way you can convince me that raping women is justifiable, or "art".

Magnolia.
well the movie was based on the 20 chapter version of the book, the REAL book has 21 chapters and totally changes the ending, its a book about whether its better to have free will to be bad or good or be a robotlike person who is good
the first few times i saw Clockwork Orange i was awed by it's genius and orginality, etc. about the tenth or so time i saw it, all at once, i was like, "why am i watching this shit!?" and ever since then i've hated the movie.
this is the interpretation i have been given for the movie also. but i just can't get past the rape.
look at it this way--i respect what the movie is trying to say, but the way it says it makes it difficult for me to listen to. there are other movies like this. for example, most people I know who disliked Saving Private Ryan respected the history it was trying to portray but couldn't get past the first twenty minutes of the D-Day battle scene. everyone has something they just can't get past in movies (see the other thread).

The Shining is my third favourite movie of all time. I could watch it a million times and not get bored, but the book was lame, I couldn't even finish it and I'll read anything.
I hate Magnolia.
Grease. Please tell me there's someone else in the entire universe who hates Grease, because I have yet to meet him/her.
Aaaaaand The Matrix.

Summer lovin'... had me a bla-ast... summer lovin'... happened so fa-ast... how can anyone not love Grease? I actually played Travolta's role in theater group during my sophomore year in college...
And yeah, I hate the matrix... although I've only seen the first one... I mostly hate it because it takes 1000's of years of philosophy and turns it into a stupid action movie...

Huh? It was just a lame-ass joke. I admit it! I'm a purveyor of lame-ass jokes. How does our not-knowing of each other make either you or I more popular, then a number problem? What?

Grease sucks. The reason I didn't list it is I didn't feel it met the criteria of the thread, being that you dislike it despite the fact that other people like it. I've never really known anyone who liked Grease.

I'd always taken it as an underlining of Alex's true evil, and the horror of violence.
And it worked, because I never warmed to his character or felt bad for him later on in the film as I have with almost every evil protagonist in other films.

I always wondered how one becomes a famous "actor" for grunting out third-grade-education one-liners.
But hey, see also:
Sylvester Stallone
Jean Claude Van-Damme
Stephen Segal
Chris O'Donnell
Plus,I hate any movie with this stupid fuck in it:

yeah... clockwork orange is all about rape. It's a great rape flick. Next time you are on a rape-date, you should watch it. It's great for date-raping by. In fact the book reads several hundred pages and every word is "rape".... Fucking nonsense...

Seems like it was scanned from a dictionary's definition of homo-eroticism. Though I'll give credit: Russel Crowe was the bomb and almost made the movie okay.

evry film with a sidekick is homoerotic... Disney is the worst with this...

Why does pointing out homo-eroticism make me a homo? Just calling a spade a spade. I constantly point out spades and people thank me for it.
When I do it I get called racist. *shrug*

I don't mean black people. I mean spades. That you dig with? So they don't fall over them.

I very much agreeify this statement. Winona shouldn't picked Ethan Hawke because he was a slacker. She should've chosen him because he was way hotter than Ben Stiller...
