Take a break from that BTO, Here's some of the more experimental music I've been listening to that I'd highly recommend.
Blackfilm - Self-Titled: Excellent dark suspenseful ambient for folks who dig Amon Tobin.
The Electric Moog Orchestra - Star Wars: This is what the score would have sounded like if George Lucas had made the movie using a quarter of the budget.
The Mount Fuji Doomjazz Corporation - Succubus: Fucking evil and sexy Doom jazz featuring members of Kilimanjaro Darkjazz Ensemble.
Majeure - Timespan: Futuristic disco synth solo album from A.E. Paterra, half of space rock masters, Zombi. If Blade Runner didn't drag out so much, this could easily be the soundtrack.
Guapo - Elixirs: Proggy dark ambient, the opening track "Jeweled Turtle" brings to mind The Shining and HBO's Carnivàle.
Oranssi Pazuzu - Muukalainen Puhuu: Pulling the stick out of the ass of black metal and going into outer space.
K2 - Chameleon Balet: The cover art alone made me need to listen to it.

Me likey.

Now, graduate to Sunn O))).
Tuffy the Dump Truck may rarely increase the risk of a heart attack or stroke. The risk may be greater if you have heart disease or increased risk for heart disease (for example, due to smoking, family history of heart disease, or conditions such as high blood pressure or diabetes), or with longer use. Tuffy should not be taken right before or after heart bypass surgery. Also, Tuffy may infrequently cause serious (rarely fatal) bleeding from the stomach or intestines. This effect can occur without warning symptoms at any time while taking Tuffy. Older adults may be at higher risk for this effect. (See also Precautions and Drug Interactions sections.) Stop taking Tuffy and get medical help right away if you notice any of the following rare but serious side effects: bloody or black/tarry stools, persistent stomach/abdominal pain, vomit that looks like coffee grounds, chest/jaw/left arm pain, shortness of breath, unusual sweating, weakness on one side of the body, sudden vision changes, slurred speech. Ask your doctor if Tuffy is right for you.
Already a graduate.
Sunn O))) - Flight of the Behemoth: For Whom The Bell Tolls((I Dream of Lars Ulrich Being Thrown Through the Bus Window instead of My Master Mystikall Cliff Burton). Easily the best song title add on.

I've seen Sunn O))) twice. Both times were religious experiences for me.
"Seen" is subjective. The first time, they played in total darkness.

Neurosis And Jarboe: A collaboration between fucking Neurosis and fucking Jarboe!
Oxbow - An Evil Heat: How does one describe Oxbow? Noise rock is too lazy of a term.
Ben Frost - By The Throat: Perfect for your love/hate relationship with your ears.
Blut Aus Nord - Thematic Emanation of Archetypal Multiplicity: Soundtracks for Scientists of Occult Synchretism: Dark ambient music from a black metal band that is actually a bit scary. Quite unsettling at times until the *sigh* "industrial" parts.
Contemporary Noise Quintet - Pig Inside The Gentleman: Polish jazz. For those late nights trying to solve a murder. Sexy.
Umberto - Prophecy of the Black Widow: John Carpenter and Goblin? If you said yes, you will enjoy.
Guano Padano - Self Titled: Adore Ennio Morricone?

Is that the actual for real title? Like, not something you just added on for humouous effect?
If that's the actual title I will go out and buy that CD rather than just stealing it via download like I do every single piece of my music.
O, the delicious irony!
I'm not clever enough to come up with that. It's fo real the title. Look it up.

Actual title, yes. Not usually written out in full, though.

Folks also might like OM.
I recommend the album "Pilgrimage".

I recommend the album "Pilgrimage".
Hell yes! The last album with the original duo. Chris Haikus left, AL Cisneros hired Emil Amos from Grails, which I'd also highly recommend.
Been worshipping Grails for a while. Any album will do.
And fuck it, before Om, Cisneros and Haikus were with High on Fire's Matt Pike in the mighty SLEEP. Dopesmoker is absolutely essential and fucking rules. Now here is the song in it's entirety.

Sleep are so awesome.
Supremo, are you into Electric Wizard?
Oh god, I love Electric Wizard. I got Witchcult Today, Dopethrone, Black Masses and their split with Reverend Bizarre all on delicious vinyl. I heard Rise Above might be reissuing Come My Fanatics... since like every one of their albums, they go for ridiculously high prices on Ebay. They fucking destroy speakers. When I listened to Dopethrone for the first time, I had no idea music could be so brutally heavy.
Wizard in Black from Come My Fanatics....
Funeralopolis from Dopethrone
Dunwich from Witchcult Today
Black Mass opening track from Black Masses
Just buy all of their albums already. And while your at it, get some Eyehategod.
And give Bongripper a chance! Find Hippie Killer! You will not regret it!
Bongripper is so cool, they had a super super limited box set for their album, Heroin, complete with spoon, lighter and tourniquet. You had to provide your own heroin though.

Let's go into outer space.
Benn Jordan - Pale Blue Dot: Ambient soundtrack to relaxing deep space travel.
Hawkwind - Hall of the Mountain Grill: D Rider makes me want to quit everything and think about exploring the universe. Pretty much most of the Hawkwind albums I've listened to make me feel that way.
Zombi - Cosmos: This album adds a bit of danger to space exploration. Worrying about becoming separated from the craft while spacewalking and floating into nothing. But you overcome that fear.
Rosetta - The Galilean Satellites: Metal for astronauts. A double album, first part metal, second part ambient, that can be synchronized together. A must listen/own.

The mighty fine British label, Southern Records has a series known as "Latitudes" where an artist is given a limited amount of time to record an album in Southern Studios. The results are often amazing.
Blood & Time - Untitled: Neurosis acoustic/ambient side project, I could not stop listening to this for months after getting it.
Miasma & The Carousel of Headless Horses - Manfauna: Stunning and perhaps haunting music. I guess one may classify this as "Antique Prog". Featuring Daniel O'Sullivan who is also in the aforementioned Guapo and tons of other great bands and even sometimes performs live with Sunn O))).
Bohren & Der Club Of Gore - Mitleid Lady: More slow as fuck jazz. This is fucking heaven. I would almost say it's "solving a murder mystery" music, but more like "why in earth would this murder possibly happen?" music. If you don't know this band, you should now find everything they've ever recorded.
Nadja - Sky Burial: Drone Doom-gaze. Perfect for those afternoons of pure isolation. You'll dig if you like Sunn O))) and Jesu.
The (Fallen) Black Deer - Requiem: All the members of post rock band, Red Sparowes could not make their Latitudes session, so the remaining Josh Graham and Greg Burns instead perform their own re-imagining of the Shining soundtrack, which is pretty much when Jack starts losing his shit. Must be heard and owned by all.
listen to part of it here
Master Musicians of Bukkake - Elogia De La Sombra: All fucking over the place. Drone, psychedelic, folk. Lose yourself.

After about 5 months, here's something new . . .
Rangers - Suburban Tours: This shit rules. I guess one can call this 80's inspired lo-fi funk. Also heard "chillwave" being thrown around. Not sure how to classify this. Somewhere it was described as "a lost Steely Dan session recorded onto a mangled microcassette tape."
The Caretaker - An Empty Bliss Beyond This World: Ambient music using grainy sounding old 78 records of ballroom jazz. Extremely reminiscent of the Shining and also extremely creepy. Play it in an old house and you can convince someone it is haunted.
Dirty Beaches - Badlands: Lo-fi pop/rockabilly . . . uh yeah sure, I guess. I don't even know anymore. This stays with you though.
Ensemble Economique - Psychical: Psych/drone/horror. It feels like someone wants to kill you and you don't know when and how they'll strike.

For experimental electronic ambient industrial weirdness, The Legendary Pink Dots. If you have the chance of seeing these guys live, do that shit. It's surreal.
