DJ Shadow
Any of you like the geezer? I think he's awesome. Very enjoyable, very entertaining, very talented, very intricate, very intelligent, and very innovative.
Any thoughts on him?
I love what him and Thom Yorke did together.
I like most of his stuff
He's fun. And yes, Rabbit in Your Headlights is a great track, and great video, too.
I love that video so much. Right up there with Karma Police.
ah boo hoo
yeah, hes cool, lenny- do you prefer Entroducing? - more hip-hop-y, or Private Press- more beats driven? -- ps. UNKLE did kick a huge amount of ass.
life's pretty straight without vidalia :You_Rock_
UNKLE was great, and I, for one, thought both of Shadow's records were great in their own rights. Private Press is more fun to listen to. But Entroducing is a much better musical achievement.
one of the coolest things re: UNKLE, was all the toys and other random collateral Mo'Wax released at the time the CD came out.
re: PP- yes, lots of fun, esp. Mashin' On The Motorway'
life's pretty straight without vidalia :You_Rock_
UNKLE is just basically DJ Shadow, with "concept" and little help from the label head, James Lavelle, and some famous singers.
yeah, and thats cool.
but yknow, Rabbit In Your Headlights really is the worst thing on Psyence Fiction.
life's pretty straight without vidalia :You_Rock_
The video is really spanking, though. And I don't have Psyence Fiction, man. I never really had the chance to get it, as my local CD stores don't have it, so for now, I just have their EPs.
And when DJ Shadow adds piano to any of his tracks, he just makes it sound so...authentically amazing, if that makes any sense whatsoever.
dj shadow = overrated
but still good
Robo, I need your email address. You can email it to me, or IM it to me.
DJ Shadow is real good
i like the whole chill factors of his music
you can just honestly come out of a reggae concert or a good punk show
and be like i needa chill out for a bit
put in dj shadow and it hits the spot Seriously
so here i go...

holy shit?! really? so going to try that.... right now
life's pretty straight without vidalia :You_Rock_
Same. But I don't own Akira. I don't really own any anime, as it's just...not my thing, although I've seen Akira. But I got to try that out.
godammit- now gotta locate copy of Entroducing. shit.
life's pretty straight without vidalia :You_Rock_
Akira is sweeeet
im definitely gonna try that shit
you know that show "samarai jack" on cartoon netowork
if you play any music (preferable techno, or deftones, or wuteva)
it will go with the music most of the time
just cuz the animations are so wacky and shit
i wanna do that thing with akira tho cuz that movie is the shit

I hear that DJ Shadow is working with blink182 on their new album, which is due out sometime this fall. I'm not a big blink182, but it might be worth listening to the album for some kind of trip-hop subtleties. Trip-pop. Haha, that's clever... ok, guess not.

i just found out about dj shadow recently, he's very good yes.
DJ Shadow is producing a song or two of their's, that's really it.
lucky, i dont want him to oversoil his panties working for those bits of whitetrash. oops, i mean surfers.
life's pretty straight without vidalia :You_Rock_
Yeah. He needs to start working on another album. Maybe something completely new, maybe a combination of what was good about Entroducing... and The Private Press.
I just got the special edition copy of Private Press. Pretty nice. Great packaging. Great music. Great extra track.
ooh ooh , do tell, what is extra? what songs?
life's pretty straight without vidalia :You_Rock_
It's called "Pushin' Buttons Live," featuring Cut Chemist and DJ Nu-Mark. It's over 12 minutes long and pretty damn fun.
Plus it's got fuckin ill packaging.
A while back. I just happened to buy it now.
has it got some wacky black + red design on the front? i cant remember exactly, but i think i might have skimmed over this rather carelessly at the local record shoppe.
damnit, i have to go find it.
life's pretty straight without vidalia :You_Rock_
No, it's very similar to the original artwork, just in a paper cd case, with a more complex cover that includes a monkey instead of a duck. There also is another extra track I forgot about. The original version of Giving Up The Ghost.
The only thing that's I don't really like is the singing part of Blood on the Motorway. It's sort of corny. But the music in that song is awesome. And Mashin' on the Motorway is great.
yeah, Mashin' is fukn corny, but totally cool.
'i got yours right here buddy'!
