I don't think Crowe should of won and Pheonix didn't. To me he should of got Best Supporting Actor and was fucking fantastic.
As with Crowe, I wouldn't say he shouldn't have got it, but it wasn't an amazing performance.

See thats the problem with everyones point of view, they're always so grounded and realistic. Why can't the most absurd idea be the most accurate? Think for it long enough, like thing so hard it hurts and you start question your existence and reality, you realize that one idea is as absurd as another. The academy gets it right sometimes (recent examples being the 80th and 81st Academy Awards) and sometimes they don't make any fucking sense (Apparently Chicago is a greater film than Punch Drunk Love, The Two Towers, Adaptation, Gangs of New York and The Pianist).
Other times they don't have anything to work with (2005 was one of the slowest years for movies ever).
I forgot that Chicago won a whole lot of awards. Blah.

I think it deserved some of the more technical/artistic awards it won.
But Best Picture and Best Director? Nah.
Wasn't it just the third one that they gave the best picture and director to? I think that was a pretty good call. It definitely deserved some kind of attention for him making that massive of a movie, even if they did break it down to three of them, that's still a hell of an achievement.
It didn't deserve to get anything for just the first two parts, but once it was all out there and completed, i thought it was a nice touch.
And I'm not really even much of a fan.
