'Dexter' - Showtimes kick ass show- Culties will love it!
crap, now i owe you a sexual favor too

thanks, you rock
I read those words whilst masturbating, so consider me favoured.
Episode 9 was a nice break from all that action. I'm starting to like Deb's new boyfriend.
Deb's new boyfriend kicks major ass.
Wouldn't it be nice if he and Dexter became brother-in-laws, and, well, for want of a better term 'partners in crime'.
It would, but sadly ... you know they can't do that. Actually, the show would be empty without the "adversary", but I bet they have Dexter kill him.
Episode 10 was a strange one. Glad to see Paul get what he deserves, i thought Dexter was going to kill him. Silly that he became emotionally involved though, perhaps Dexter is becoming more emotional as the series goes on.

Best damn show currently on TV, imco.
I haven't been hooked on a show like this since the early Sopranos seasons.
After watching the first couple episodes, I "randomly" decided to start reading Invisible Monsters again. I'm pretty sure the name Brandy Alexander in the opening credits had something to do with my decision of reading materials.
Oh, quick edit, I'm hoping for a bad/disturbing ending to the season. The way the series is going, it would be a huge dissapointment to see it end on a positive note.
oh yeah, there's definitely going to be some tragedy
perhaps Deb will lose a leg
or Dexter's gf
something's going to happen anyways
this show is definitely coming back for another season

You know what would be twisted?
If he cut off his own arm. Really fucking twisted. But you know, now that we know he's got that fettish, he could well cut off Deb's arm. Or leg.
How many episodes?
12?
12 total episodes? is that all?

Yup, two more episodes left, including the one tonight.

Episode 11: Truth Be Told
Airdate: 2006-12-10
The Ice Truck Killer kidnaps someone very close to Dexter, forcing Dexter to play a deadly game of hide-and-seek.
And yeah, there's only twelve episodes on the unreleased DVD.
I don't know how I feel about last night's epidode.
This I do know:
- I am in love with Dexter's girlfriend.
- Screw Rudy (or whatever his name is) - showing him be a killer made him alot less appealing than when we just knew it.
- I think they had to make us not like Rudy and had to have him be a dick to Deb so that we are satisfied when Dexter kills him.
Fucking loved this episode, I was ont he edge of my seat, I even felt excited when Deb was jumping around the hallway after Dexter told her Rudy wanted to propose.
I can't wait for the finale!

SPOILERS!
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I want to see the trophy room! i want deb to be part of the trophies, i want to see the big startling revelation of the family. I want deb to be used as bait to set up dexter to be tortured by rudy/brian(im assuming its the same guy right? and they didnt just change the name of the character). Shit thats way too much to throw into one episode.
rudy fucked up too much in the last episode, very very out of character for being so methodical. Attacking angel in the way he did made no sence, Yes he needed to shut up angel and the one handed hooker, but in a less sloppy way.
in the preview, they showed Dex getting chemically conked by Rudy, but they can't have he or Deb killed - so I am guessing the Deb wakes up or frees herself from the duct tape and saves Dex. Dex won't be able to kill Rudy because Deb is there, so they'll have to call for backup or something and meanwhile Rudy will escape.

Ok, I was sort of close, but I admit - I did not see the brother thing coming.
At the end of this episode I cheered. It was just great as far as I am concerned.
i seen the brother thing coming, but more or less based off of the photos at the crime scene & the finding the fathers house episode. The finger nails i would have never guessed, nor that the mom wasnt a sweet lady.
It was good!
I didn't see the brother twist coming up, I mostly expected that he would be the brother or son of someone Dexter put away, like the son of his first kill (the killer hospital lady) something like that.
It didn't leave it open for another series, which means there probably won't be one, which is a good thing so I think, because I think it is initially harder to end a series so short, instead of making it run ona nd on and on, like Lost, or Prison Break
I suppose they could bring Dexter back, but it would be a new story for sure. Who knows, maybe Dexter had a sister, or the guy that killed Dexter's mother will come back, oooooooo

They are signed on for a second season,
definite things it will have
1.)a copy cat killer(not as the main plot for the season but as a short one to-two episode part)
2.)Dexter being followed, watched and investigated and possibly becoming a suspect of a crime, between Doakes & Paul both being suspicious of dexter now.
ah that sucks, I hope they do a good job with it then
any idea when it starts?

I have now rewatched the ending episode three times. In fact, I went home and watched it for my lunch break.
It's really said when he has to kill Rudy. Really sad. Poor, poor Rudy.
great show, thought the ending was weak
was shocked about the brother thing, but kinda wanted dex to kill deb, what, he goes soft on us already?
will be interesting to see where it goes from here
here's my big prediction:
dex's girlfriend is NOT WHAT SHE SEEMS - i think she has a very sordid past, much like dex's mother (what if she was his SISTER?) and is happy paul is in jail so he won't revel it - maybe she's an ex-hooker, or serial killer herself

I just finished reading the first book........I can't believe how much better the show is. I was really dissappointed with the direction the book went. I'll probably read the second book after I watch the second season though.
I had a Dexter marathon over the last few weeks - what an awesome show. How good is Michael C Hall to go from playing David in Six Feet Under to Dexter?! I kept thinking back to when David got kidnapped; Dexter would never put up with that.

No shit! He got nominated for a Golden Globe for it but didn't win. Ah well. He was the main reason I decided to start watching Dexter ...
Great show though.
I had no idea he was in it when I started watching it so it was a very pleasant surprise.
The last few episodes were really strong. I thought Rudy might be some sort of family member and kept looking for another kid in amongst all the blood. Creepy!
can't wait for the new season

Showtime is pumping out some pretty good stuff lately. "Weeds" is a really good show too if you haven't checked it out. I was surprised at how well written it is.

I'm watching episode six now. Nice suggestion.
If anyone finds me a link i can watch these on, PM me. The showtime website only lets you watch them if you're a Yank, which I'm not.
Go on, if you PM me, you'll be the first PM I ever received.
Buy the DVD's and don't cheat the producers out of their money.

Right. I'm watching Season Two episode eight right now, and I'm pissing myself laughing. Everyone should watch this show. Fucking hilarious. I can't believe he actually just walked in to that booth.
I don't have Dexter on OnDemand anymore.
It's like a friend isn't acceptingmyncalls anymore.
I seriously cant wait until the next season for both Weeds and Dexter. They both start in Feb. right? That cliffhanger for Weeds was insane. I yelled at the computer on that one.
I wish though that the ending to the Dexter book and the show were the same! I liked the book better.

I picked up the book recently. I am about half way through.
It got all confusing because I read it at the same time as watching the shows. It was really hard to know what was going on!
I watched like the first episode or something and then DLed the books (for free from the publishers website) and read them both in a day or so. I got confused, too.
If anyone wants the books, I still have them on my computer and will gladly email them.
The thrid book is coming out in July I think. Im excited.

Motherfucker. What a brilliant fucking cliffhanger.
I don't mean to turn this into a "Weeds" thread but.......
**spoilers**
I dig how the Nancy/Peter relationship gets all dark and violent towards the end of season two. It is just really unexpected and there's a part of me that really thinks he gets killed in that garage.
I could seriously just watch a show about Doug and Andy. They are so damn funny.
I'm watching this Dexter show now. With French subtitles!
Le tueur au camion frigorifique is apprently French for the ice-truck killer.
I like learning.
Does that mean they kill people with an ice-truck or is it just some non-sequiter name from a 'creative' FBI agent?

Who's ever heard of a serial killer with a ten-syllable name, come ON, buck up Francophones.

No shit, those Dreadful Files books are an embarrassment. I even killed some poor newbie's thread with a mini rant about it.
Anyway, this Dexter show was hyper-predictable with some fingernails-on-chalkboard irritating characters (Deb). Also, Dexter is the worst I-have-no-feelings character since Spock or that black guy in Equilibrium, "oooh, shame I have no feelings...look at me faking it..." Bullshit Mr. Han man, he's brimming with all kinds of feelings! And I was disappointed that he's a vigilante. Ick.
Despite these small problems I enjoyed the show immensely and I'm sad that I don't have any more episodes to watch.
Despite these small problems I enjoyed the show immensely and I'm sad that I don't have any more episodes to watch.
Fuckin-A!
I don't know. Somehow it just works.
How do you feel about the girlfriend? (there are wrong answers)
We know how you feel about the girlfriend.
I don't like her, she's insipid. Even her hair is insipid. I liked her much better as Darla.

Even when Darla was dying of syphilis she had more chutzpah than Rita.
But she was the kind of character the show needed for Dexter's girlfriend. Can you imagine Dexter going out with someone like Deb or Laguerta? Eeeeew.
Although Rita did get into the shower with him while he was trying to get a wash and that's not something I can get on board with.
Dexter himself is cool, but I don't like how Stereotypes-R-Us every other character on Dexter is.
No, Deb stops with the undercover hooking in the book. I remember books better than I remember shows, though, so... I forget if she stops with the hooking in the show.
Also, after like- 50 pages in, the book and the show TOTALLY stop going together.
So Im fairly confused and must continue to watch.
Of course she stops. Don't you remember - the whole promotion thing to homicide?
Also, the book's been added to my To Buy list. Which is longer than an elephants trunk, and is a digital word document written in Verdana size 4 font.
