Brotherhood of the Wolf
anyone else seen/own this movie? i friggin loved it so much. for those who have the u.s. single bare bones disc, f you listen to the english dubbed part, does it sound as if certain parts where people are screamign are echoed out digitally or sounds like a digital echo and al fucked up?
i thought it was so awesome how this was all based ona true story too, after seien this flick i rmemeber reading pages and pages of historical information on The Beast of Gevaudien
I watched it in french when I imported the canadian 3-disc for a friend of mine. It couldn't really hold my attention but it had some pretty sweet action for a foreign film.
The one armed man pissed me off though.
Then again, I might be wrong.

Jesus, I thought I was the only one! Yeah, I totally dug that movie. Especially since I had no expectations of it whatsoever and it ended up being great.
Suck me beautiful...
i loved this film. the brazen imagery; the gratuitous sex and violence; and, moreover, the fact that it's french. ooh-ahh!
Yeah it was a really nice movie, I saw it at the theatre, too... But, okay...
*SPOILER FOR THOSE WHO HAVENT SEEN...*
Okay, did the ending piss anyone else off, too? I dunno, I just got annoyed, cos it's lke... wtf.. a lion? How gay. I wanted it to be a real monster or something. >_< Fuck this "we have to be realistic" bullcrap.. I dunno, it was still cool, though.
Well fuck, that was one monstrous lion!
Suck me beautiful...
Dammit, there's a kid down the hall who has this. I'm definitely gonna have to go borrow it now....or steal it.
*Rents' alter-ego takes over* NO!!! STEALING BAD!!!! *SLAM FIST IN FACE*
it wasnt a lion, it wasnt anything that words can be put into words besides a "beast", if it was alion we woulda seen it in the history books
buuuuut early designs of the beast did make it look some what like a lion;maybe a lions distant cousin, with some "fancy" additions

Well, in the movie it was - they talk about it being caught in Africa and I'm pretty sure you get to see it and can see pretty clearly that it is a lion.. Sure, it had that giant suit on that made it look a lot bigger and crazier.. but still a lion underneath.
thats where your mistaken my good friend. they caught a new breed of animal from Africa, never said anything about a lion, and you never get to see it without its "armor" on, you see a close up of its eyes, which if anything look to be wolf (the colour of the fur)
altho that piece of conceptual art can argue other wise
i cant stop lookin at that art, friggin awesome, definantely goin up on the wall
I thought they eye looked very lionish and so did all my friends. And the build of the animal looked very lionish, too. That art doesn't really look like the movie.. To me, at least... But it's been awhile, so perhaps my memory's a bit foggy.
the art is concept art. a guide line if you will, ideas to throw around and put out.
Yeah yeah... but, ok, it does look like a lion - just with armor on...
not at all dude, theres no maine, nothing. the only identifiable traight to that it may be a lion is the way its shoulders stick up high and the rest of the body sorta slouches low behind it, but most animals that walk on 4 legs do that
Could be a female, yo.
hmm could be, but no tail!
and its voice is much different from a lions
Yeah well piss off, I'll have to watch it again, I suppose.
LOL!! ha ha ha yes you will
A similar film is Ghost in the Darkness with Michael Douglas and Kurt Russel I believe. It is about a Lion that attacks train track builders in Africa.
I was bored with this though should have been edited a bit more and should have had the option of subtitles.
yeah i thought it got boring at times too, but overall a good movie
Haha... this movie was horrible. I turned it off before the credits even began to roll. It never ended, and the story jumped all over the place until I was thoroughly sick of the bullshit.
And, I'm the only one who has had this opinion. Woo... I'm so speical and different.
If God takes life, he's an indian giver.
what didnt you like about it?
The story.
And, there was only one good fight scene. I rented the movie, looking for some easy action flick to watch, and then it shoves this story down my throat trying to make me think it was good. When, in reality, it was so boring, incoherent, and schizophrenic.
It's been about 2 months since I watched it, though. I don't really remember too many of the details.
If God takes life, he's an indian giver.
I saw this, and hated it. It was just slow moving, and not really compelling.
Mind you, I didn't finish it so I'm not saying that that's my final answer. I'll probably watch it again sometime, but... I don't know. Just didn't strike that french film chord with me.
i thought the story was awesome
"Brotherhood of the Wolf" sounds like some Dungeons and Dragons Expansion Pack.
I also can't stop looking at disx's avatar.
That's the lady from the Sneaker Pimps, in the "Six Underground" video, right?
Why would you, my fellow hater?
If God takes life, he's an indian giver.
Yes it is, Epo.

i saw that a few weeks ago. i loved it. that is an amazing movie. i dont know about the dubbed screaming though, because i watched it with subtitles. dubbed movies really annoy me. then thing with the pumpkins was really funny. if you were to shoot a pumpkin, thats not what it would look like! i never knew it was based on a true story... i'll have to look that up sometime when i'm not dying.
