Doot doo;
Eels - Climbing To The Moon
Rage Against the Machine - Snakecharmer

Sigur Ros - njósnavélin
Yo La Tengo - Last Days of Disco
Muse - Sunburn
With a best song of the moment award going to:
System of a Down - Streamline
Lord no... My best song of the moment is just the song that I'm currently addicted to, and playing over and over. The rest are timeless ones that have already gone through that phase but still stick

John Cage '4`33'
'Most Perfect' song, anyway. I was in a band once that actually covered it live. Sheesh.
Back to the point - While I'm not the biggest Smashing Pumpkins fan in the world (by a long shot), 'Drown' was pretty damnear the perfect pop song. Insofar as what I look for in a pop song, anyway.
Shai Hulud - A Profound Hatred of Man
Pretty much ANYTHING recorded by Glassjaw.
im going to have to second "eulogy" by tool. the song is flawless in just about every way. there's a lot of bands im in love with, but they can't even come near the power of that song.
Then again, I might be wrong.
"Warlock" and "Hardset Head" by Skinny Puppy
"The Perfect Drug" by NIN
"Blitzkrieg Bop" by The Ramones

I love
Tool - Third Eye.
Will never get sick of that song.
Herion by the Velvet Underground. I love Lou Reed.
We'd all like some real friends, but what are the odds of that happening?--Cheif Wiggum
incubus - aqueous tranmisson
We're the culture that cried wolf.
Idioteque-RadioHead.
Everything else from Kid A.
Paranoid Android-RadioHead.
Everything else from OK COmputer.
The entire Smashing Pumpkins Adore album.
I dunno. Ummmmm...... Everything from Elliot Smith's first album. And everything from Sigur Ros's albums. And everything else I listen to and can't remeber. Yes, it's true, I have no idea when a song is timeless, just when albums are. ZWAN! MUSE! I'm so glad some people on the forum know who Muse is.
my picks, some at random because i just completely love them *right now*, some because I've *always* loved them*, and some because they just are:
lou reed - "walk on the wild side"
the ramones - "i want to be sedated"
elvis costello - "i want you" / "beyond belief" (tough pick between the two)
fleetwood mac - "landslide"
squeeze - "tempted"
the specials - "ghost town"
peter murphy - "i'll fall with your knife"
rasputina - "the new zero"
the doors - "the end"
otis redding - "try a little tenderness"
the pretenders - "middle of the road"
hole - "violet"
the clash - "london calling"
nine inch nails - "hurt"
laurie anderson - "big science" / "o superman" / "from the air"(i can't pick between the top three)
the residents - "satisfaction" / "wolverines" / "he also serves" / the entire "The Third Reich And Roll" album (each side is one track, completely made of psychhotic renditions of classic pop songs like "yummy yummy yummy I've got love in my tummy" done as one big medly) / "Hello Skinny" (too much to pick from!)
frank zappa - "dumb all over"
this list will probably change within a week
debacle is a verb
Oooooo.
this can't be a list of songs that are timeless for me.
just songs that i always fall back to.

~now, i know its the most recognized song, but its so damn catchy that i never get tired of hearing it.
Starlight Mints - The Bandit
~yet another song thats hook is just undeniably groovy.

Elliot - Calm Americans
This Day Forward - Kairos
A lot of older Metallica
I'd like to put a bunch of more songs on here, but they would only be songs I really like at the moment, and not nessecarily amazingly written songs that I'll like years from now.

Fine. I did it.

This thread lists a lot of bad songs as "the best songs ever created."
You know in all the years I've been here I've never been sigged?
I noticed that. Had these songs been posted in the past year, we would've ripped them to shreds.

The Doors - Break on Through.
Fearless by Pink Floyd.
Pink Cigarette by Mr Bungle.
Camarillo Brillo by Frank Zappa.
Here, There and Everywhere (and everything else) by The Beatles.
Don't Talk (Put Your Head On My Shoulder) by The Beach Boys.
Paint It Black by The Rolling Stones.
California Dreaming by The Mamas and The Papas.
On Your Own Again by Scott Walker.
Town Without Pity by Gene Pitney.
Margot Kidder by Million Dead.
I'm Glad by Captain Beefheart and His Magic Band.
Bell Bottom Blues by Derek and The Dominoes.
Five Years by David Bowie.
R.V. by Faith No More.
More Than A Feeling by Boston.

TOOL - Eulogy
