This was over at The NIN Hotline:
Reznor Comments on Johnny Cash Video 14:01
In a recent article on RollingStone.com about the video of Hurt put out by Johnny Cash earlier this year, Trent Reznor explains his initial reaction to the video:
Cash's producer, Rick Rubin, sent a copy of the video to NIN's Trent Reznor. "We were in the studio, getting ready to work -- and I popped it in," Reznor says. "By the end I was really on the verge of tears. I'm working with Zach de la Rocha, and I told him to take a look. At the end of it, there was just dead silence. There was, like, this moist clearing of our throats and then, 'Uh, OK, let's get some coffee.'"
-----
Also, if you look around now, you can get the album "The Man Comes Around" with a bonus DVD which is of the Hurt video, I got it last week and it is well worth it, both the music and the video.
Trent is working with Zach? I have to say, I didn't expect that.

Oh yeah ... hello to all the NIN junkies out there if there are any ...

I agree, fantastic video. I was sending a link to all my friends, telling them to watch it. It's touching, to say the least.
Disx, where is that clip in your avatar from? it looks so familiar.
Wanna have the pants scared off you in 90 seconds?
Watch 'Laundry Day', my new horror short:
Yeah, DNT, you can read more at www.theninhotline.net about Trent and Zach sitting in a studio w-o-r-k-i-n-g. Hopefully though first comes new NIN, then comes Tapeworm, then comes Zach's solo album. Probably not though.
Hello to you too Jaded.
Dennis, I was thinking the same thing, I feel like I have seen that clip that Disx has as an avatar, too. Or maybe I just dreamed it.
It's from the video of Sonne by Rammstein.
One Hour Photo was also an awesome movie.

duh. i should've checked tnh. but problem is i've been boycotting tnh b/c meathead won't update in boycott of the nin.com website not being updated. so yeah.
the mind of a nin-cult-member is complicated. i guess i lead a double life, being both a chuck cultist and a nin cultist. they have intersections but they are incredibly different.
that said...i fucking worship trent. sigh.

Thanks for the link to The NIN Hotline William. I've been looking for a good NIN-site. I've tried to register to www.nin.com for three times and they always fuck up at their end.

The NIN hotline is about the only place I check anymore, glad I could be of help in directing to it. Registering at nin.com was damned difficult, and I didn't really dig the forum anyway, and the main site is rarely updated (I haven't read TMP for a while, but I think it's funny that he is not posting to boycott nin.com not being updated). But if you want to know of one of the worst sites in terms of no update, check out www.timburton.com. It has been several years since the front went up and still nothing new from it! Grr. Arrgh!
Sadly beautiful.
a) Cash makes me believe the song, and makes Trent's 20-something angsty attempt to be "tortured" have no wieght to it at all.
At first I thought this was about the Christina Aguliera video, which isn't bad either.

Attention Ninnies.
www.9inchnails.com has the best nine inch nails message board on the net.
the board is down right now for some updates but its a wicked cool site.
meathead is a member and posts there ever so often.
i've been there for a few years and it is easily the coolest message i go to.
not that i don't love this site.
All i have are these Action Bills.
the video kills me in a good way every time i see it. i want to give johnny a hug, but i can't. the way his wife is just standing there almost in tears the whole time adds to the pain.
i love that video and song.
