fuck mad max. mel gibson isnt really australian. but if you want to see one his only decent films, watch Gallipoli. with 'oxygene' in the soundtrack- funkiest soundtrack song ever.

I have seen both Romper Stomper and Interview which is essentially a Usual Suspects clone but better than most Hollywood shiite anyways. Thanks for the recs I'll see if I can find some of those.

I was telling D._Prest about this the other day, but I had a nightmare about "Picnic At Hanging Rock" the other night which sort of freaked me out.

I was watching a trailer for the film of all the scariest scenes put together. And I was suddenly in the scene where the girls all follow each other up that rocky path while the fat chick freaks out and the score swells. And I remember I was standing there, watching them walk away... and I wanted to stop them too. And then I noticed this little girl was watching me from a dark cave. And in the dream, it shot into a close-up of her laughing at me. And her face was morphing into weird shapes as she did.

When I woke up, I had to piss. But I had to calm down first before I even set my feet on the ground.

I talk about film often on this board, but I've never mentioned before my fond admiration for the films of Aussie director Peter Weir. He has been, for a long time, one of my favorite all time directors.

From Gallipoli, to Picnic At Hanging Rock, to The Year of Living Dangerously, to Witness, to Dead Poet's Society to Fearless.... the guy rocks. Coming up next, we have "Master and Commander" with Russell Crowe. I'm there.

Hrm, I had 2 weird dreams last night.. I rarely remember my dreams, so it was neat that I had two that were semi interesting and I actually remembered...

First one, I don't know what was going on, but I'm standing outside and all these bombs are falling I guess and then all of a sudden a nuke drops... and I jump behind this aluminum shed and that saves me from the nuke (my dreams are [i]so[/i] realistic) and then that single nuke apparently triggered the apocalypse and everything just started going to hell..

The other one, all my friends had like, swapped their girlfriends around. It was weird.. I'm sitting there and I'm like "wait.. he's not with her, he's with her.. so... why.. wtf" and wow, it was strange. Then I talked to one guy and he was like "yeah we broke up oh well now im with so-and-so" which of course was one of my other friend's girlfriends.. and wow.. why would I even have this dream? So dumb. I hate my dreams.

BTW Wes, I enjoyed the movie, but on a different level to the book. It was so far removed from the book that I hardly ever associate them. The book had me laughing, the movie was pretty pensive for a 'comedy'.
