I would not be upset if this wins Best Picture. Extremely well acted and directed with beautiful cinematography. There is a 5 and a half minute camera shot that will be talked about in film classes for years.
I'd give Vanessa Redgrave an Oscar for her ten minute cameo. Phenomenal.

I mostly agree. Once it got to the war it seemed a bit ho-hum. But I felt the ending saved it.
