Apacalypto......Gorefest???
Anyone see this yet? I heard it is an absolute gorefest, and upon seeing the previews, here seems like there'll be some Indiana-Jones-Heart-Pulls and decapitations, anywys anyone who's seen it lemme know.
Who cares, we're all gonna be dead one day anyway.
Yes we are dude.
Not me!
Rated R for sequences of graphic violence and disturbing images
so probably not.

I hear they use the teeth of adolescent youth for the pointy edges of darts and you get to see them butchering a seven yr. old girl of her teeth in one sequence and then shortly afterwards same little girl shoots an arrow at a dog running away once she hits it with her fist when it licked her hand adorably.
I saw it, and I loved it - one of the best films of the year, easily. As far as being gorey, it's not as bad as I thought it'd be, but there were a handful of scenes that were definitely bloody. I've seen a lot worse.
Well looks like i'm going to have to take a chance on it then. Because my personal opinion of it through out the trailers I've seen had left me not caring at all for it.
theres a couple shots i didnt like, and one or two small things that bugged me, but otherwise it was funny, thrilling, realistic and beautifully shot and acted. also, there's a lot of parallels between whats happening in the movie, and whats happening in today's world, in ways you wouldn't expect. definitely highly recommended movie on my part.
Well I trust your take on films so you just swung my vote.
Humm, I'm intrigued. I didn't think I'd see it, but now I'd like to. Thanks for peaking my interests!

I was wondering how do they do the language?
Special effects.
Apocalypto < 300.
On Dec 9th, 2006 ...
Apocalypto > 300 trailer

To be determined, my friend.
To. Be. Determined.
I'm excited for 300, but it seems to be more style than substance. I liked Sin City a lot, but on a second watch it didn't hold up, and that's what I keep thinking of when I see stuff for 300.
Here's the conversation my buddy and I had less than 10 minutes ago. I guess on December 9, 2006, Apocalypto > 300?

Gah. Why you gotta tease me like that? I already know I'm not seeing any movies for at least a week and a half because I have finals during that time.
Damn you, final season, for coinciding with movie season!
Also, do you know who Ronaldinho is? When I saw the preview, all I could think about was "WOW, this guy looks like Ronaldinho."
ive no idear.
He's that horse looking mother soccer player.

Exactly. Now have you seen the trailer for Apocalypto? If not, click here.
Now compare Ronaldinho to the main character.
I saw it a few days ago and I did notice the 'baller' scene.
I give it a 6.51/10 (for lack of dialogue and the whole time I just kept thinking "woah, this is the story of Ronaldinho"

what the hell you mean "lack of dialogue"? there's plenty of talking.
I should've been more specific--the dialogue was so blasé. And there's not much talking, just the whole motif of don't be afraid discussed by Jaguar Paw and his father.
It was still very entertaining though.
It's not like dialogue --> good movie, but...I dunno. Maybe it's just me not being able to take Mel Gibson seriously that detracts from the film.
the film was a total bloody mess.

I haven't seen it, but I saw my first preview trailer last night.
Knowing Mr. Gibson and his latelyness, it'll be a total gorefest. When South Park made fun of him, I think they were spot on.
