The "assholes" part was directed to those who haven't seen it. Not to all of you in computerland.

shit thats funny, and they should have seen it by now, but that was sort of cruel, but all well.
The best thing about this movie is that the other brother doesn't actually exist and that no one really died, and Kaufman's whole thing about "I don't want this to be another car chase action movie" is exacty what the movie turns into in the end, nicely making fun of hollywood.
What?
I'm sure everyone knows, but in Spike Jonze's other masterpiece, "Being John Malkovich", David Fincher makes a cameo. I'm sure you all knew that . . . no? Well fuck you too!

not cool man, you can ruin a movie for someone, dont be a dick if you dont have to, you gain nothing from this, edit your posts, grow up
i did not know dave was in there, where WHERE
Kick ass movie. I really loved it.
The Masturbation scene was beautiful.
everything Charlie Kuafman writes is brilliant:
Being John Malkovich
Human Nature
Confessions of a Dangerous Mind
Adaptation
And the script he wrote that's being made now sounds fucking great. Very strange. It goes something like this. A couple decide to go together to this doctor to get their memory completely erased. the girl does it. Half way through the operation, the guy decides that it's not such a great idea and he backs out, which really fucks his brain up(i don't know exactly--but something like that.) Oh man I can't wait.
Adapatation and Confessions of a Dangerous mind were fucking awesome. Being John Malkovich was a head fuck, i mean that in a good way.
i hate to spoil the party but i thought adaptation sucked ass
YOU suckass
yea that's right, i went there
I'm with Planky.
It was all a great idea, but not enough follow through on it.
P.S. I saw that The Orchid Thief is in book stores. Is this real or just part of a tie in to the film

it's a real book
no you SUCKeth glamhoth!!! i will admit that the ghost orchid flower thing in the movie was a cool looking flower
dont you use your medieval speak on me booby mcboobenstein, it wont distract everyone from the truth of your sucking ass
mcboobenstein....how much do legal name changes cost?
less than the implants would im sure
he is really ugly in this movie
no! that would be a waste, rent something good
definitly worth it, one of the better movies I saw all year.
What?
dont listen to the boobs they will drag you down, rent it
I saw the previews to the new Kaufman flick. Eternel Sunshine on the spotless mind. It looks fucking great, I predict a golden globe for Jim Carrey as best actor in a comedy in 2004.
"I cannot imagine a God who rewards and punishes the objects of his creation, whose purposes are modeled after our own -- a God, in short, who is but a reflection of human frailty. Neither can I believe that the individual survives the death of his body, although feeble souls harbor such thoughts through fear or ridiculous egotisms." Albert Einstein
yeah, it's worth renting. definitely.
That film's directed by Michel Gondry aswell. God that should rule.

The nerve of that guy. Telling me to edit my posts. Then calling me a dick. I just barely read this today and was quite offended. Well I guess I'm sorry for "ruining" movies that have been out for quite a while. I guess I'm sorry that some people would rather rent shitty movies like Jeepers Creepers 2(which is shitty) instead of rent a great film like Adaptation.
And to tell you the truth, I do gain something. I get this little tingle. A tingle called joy. Don't take joy from me. Thank you and sorry.

definitly a great great movie. eternal sunshine looks like its gonna be good too, def looking forward to it
Eternal Sunshine is writen by Kaufman? i thought the movie looked pretty damn interesting at first, now i'm looking forward to it much much more.
i really liked Adaptation. it's worth a rent, maybe even a buy.
~ Stick
worth buying.
What?
I thought it was mildly entertaining but not particularly clever. For something to actually be a quality film i have to be able to have an in depth discussion about it afterwards whereas in this the only thing about it which put it aside from the run-of-the-mill stuff we get today is the switch in style when the 'hack' brother takes over, which was just far to obvious.
!
spoilers:
the screen play was written by charlie kaufman (nic cage's character) about his own struggles to turn the book into a movie. he was actually trying to write a movie about the book about orchids, and was having trouble. he wrote his script about that, and you are watching the true story of charlie trying to write the script of the movie you're watching... but when he had nothing to write about, instead of going to florida and spying, he just pretended he did and thats where the story gets fictitious... also he doesnt have a twin brother at all, and where it says directors and then charlie and his twin bro, thats just to make you think what you just watched was totally a true story...
when it was nominated for an academy award for best director, they actually told charlie kaufman he could only get one trophy (since the other "director" was not a real person).
i thought it was funny in hindsight when he said " I don't want to cram in sex or guns or car chases or characters learning profound life lessons or growing or coming to like each other or overcome obstacles to succeed in the end. The book isn't like that, and life isn't like that, it just isn't." and then he goes and makes this movie. the whole time i was suspecting that charlie had multiple personality disorder, the twin thing seemed too much like fight club, and he the time he argued about it with his bro was like a tyler-narrator argument... except it just didnt turn out like that. and i loved the way charlie dealt with his bro, reminds me of my brother a lot.. excellent movie, even if some jackass likes to blurt out the ending at the top of a thread about the movie.
This movie pisses all over the idea of "plot", so revealing the purposely ridiculous climax and ending is almost appropriate.
*golf clap*
It's not easy having a good time.
Even smiling makes my face ache.

Come on! This movie has been out for a while. If I ruined the film for you, then I'm sorry, your loss.

That is a great movie. It is the most original film I've seen in recent years. Nicolas Cage as twins, playing the writers of the very film they are in. Oh yeah, one of 'em dies. So does Chris Cooper. Eaten by an alligator. Sorry to blow the ending for you. Hahaha! If you haven't seen it by now, that's your fault. Assholes!
