That fool is hella gay.
Here's my review of the actual flick:
Manliness, in its purest form.
See, with a movie like this, you disregard the laws of physics, logistical issues, 'goofs.'
I'm not going to post a detailed review because no matter what I say, you're going to see it anyways. You have testicles; they're making you see it.
Basically everything you want in a war movie this movie had.
I was entertained.
I went in thinking it was going to be a top 5 movie--ever. It didn't disappoint.
There's so much that could be said about this flick, but it's all in a conversational form so I won't post it here.
Also, for all you fans of The Wire--McNulty does his thing and oh man. I won't say anything more on that subject, but...
To all you fans of Entourage--VICTORY! (à la Johnny Chase).
Also, you know how I know it's a good movie?
When every female character (outside of that one random potter) is either naked or almost naked.
Well ya, I am gonna see it, Thanks

the preview pisses me off cos it uses the song "just like you imagined.." it completely ruined the real meaning of it.. and now i just skip over it everytime i listen to the fragile...
yeah, it kind of is, which is part of the fun. this movie makes you laugh at the strangest things.

manly, eh? is it as manly as the hulk?
does anyone throw a tank?

...no, but there is a corpse avalanche.
manly, eh? is it as manly as the hulk?

If you want manliness when dealing with women, see: Spartans, namely the king.

just as good

Just got back and WOW
i think it's safe to say this knocks off Sin City as best comic to film adaptation ever
and I'm definitely in the "manly movie" group
hell I think even the Spartan Women got a big ol' fuzzy beanbag of manliness down there they're that manly !
saw it last night
i thought the effects were awesome, and overall it was very cool - if you are going to see historical accuracy, or for a deep meaning story, don't go
there were some tense moments, and i laughed way more then i thought i would (sometimes because i was supposed to, other time not so much)
i give it an A for tech/design/look and a B+ for overall experience

Wah wah wah.
The real meaning of a lyricless song? The song, like every Trent Reznor song, has no meaning. It's just : Dunh dunh dunh duhn duhn duhn duhn duhnd duhnd . . . weeeooweeeoo ahhhh duh na nah nah nuh nah na nah nuh, bah bah bah bah buh bah bah . . .
Made me wanna see the fuckin' thing. It's still awesome.
Loved the movie by the way.
Except for the Queen story shit. They showed more of here then in the comic. Fuck her. I'd fuck her. But still.

now that my testosterone has had a chance to come back down to human levels I agree
it should have focused a lot more on their march there instead of on the queen
still though, fucking awesome in every sense of the word
I just saw it, and I liked it as well. It topped Sin City.

i was surprised that they left the line in there about Athenians being "boy-lovers"
but thats how damn much manly balls this movie has, to say shit like that!
Blood! Beards! Boobs! Brawling! Bare chests! Breasts! Bellowing! Bonding! Beastly men! Bersians! BMan Gods! Bawesome!

I saw it on saturday with a group of buddies... 3 of which are majoring in history... they did not enjoy the movie at all because of its historical inaccuracy. I thought the movie was fine up until gollum from the lord of the rings made an appearance, that threw my whole experience off balance.
absolute historical accuracy was never even a selling point to the flick
it's more emphasis on the story

Because I'm fairly sure a giant rhino and a man with a tumor in his stomach who can take a spear in his bicep and a man with knives as arms pretty much ensured that this movie was going to be fact-based.
I just saw it and wow is an understatement. I loved this movie. I might still go see it on Imax just because It was so good. One of my favorites.

30 tons of pure testosterone.
ive never had an adrenaline rush from a movie before. my lady was getting all pissed at me because i kept laughing at the killing. then she got mad because i was grunting all the way home. it was the only way to express emotion, grunting.
one thing the movie brought to my attention that was most likely unintentional: white women (with the exception of a few pale redheads with prominent chins) are far less attractive than the women of other races by potential.
i thought that more time should have been spent staring at that big dude with crab claws for arms.

You have to remember that the movie is not based on history, it's based off of a graphic novel that never claimed to be historically accurate. Loved the movie, by the way, the entire way home I was beating my chest and chanting HOO-AH!
Do not speak- unless it improves on silence.
is it just me or did they not really use as much slow-mo as I was expecting them to?
maybe it was just so damn manly that i didn't even notice though
I only noticed a few clips of slo-mo, I just might have not seeen the other stuff. But I have a question. Many of the scenes are so realistic, they look fake, but look too real to be fake even though you know they are fake. The movie overall had a look too it, you could tell it wasn't recorded like other movies. But some of the landscapes were so aweseome that I know you can't just videotape one. It must come from computers, but the scenes look so real. Is anyone getting what im saying?

that it's pretty?
Nate, its not pretty, its DELICIOUS I just want to eat it!

I loved how the movie wasn't afraid to constantly play for visceral reactions. My favorite part of the whole experience:
Man gets leg amputated, crowd is mostly excited.
Man gets decapitated, crowd is mostly excited.
Corpse avalanche smothers soldiers, crowd is mostly excited.
Xerxes ambiguously hits on Leonidas by putting his hands on his shoulders... crowd reacts with loud noises of disgust/disapproval.
I want to go see this in IMAX, just so I can say I've seen sixteen foot tall oracle nipples.
Seriously, there is a MOSI 1 hour away with an IMAX theatre, but its mostly for kids and they won't show R movies. So im crying now that i can't see "16 foot tall oracle nipples" . BTW nice tigerhairdo

i loved 300. that movie was a true mans movie. the only critique i have is that if they would have showed the whole movie at normal speed then it would only have been like an hour long.
Y'all go way to bonkers over sub par stuff man.

That why we like you so much.
That why we like you so much.
You performing here all week? I'm usually at the bar in the back.
Oh, man... Where was this movie four years ago when I would have enjoyed the hell out of it?
You performing here all week? I'm usually at the bar in the back.
Please tip the bartender, I get 10%.

I saw it and enjoyed it very much. The voice over was kind of irritating at times, and all the nude Spartans and shit was a little much, but there were a couple pairs of nice titties to off balance that, and the style of the film was superb. The battle scene (meaning, one long-ass battle scene) was fantastically done. Oh: and too much slow mo for my taste, and the hunchback looked a lot like a guy I know named Gerry.
I thought the movie was amazing. Saw it last night in IMAX...visually incredible, great action sequences that I suspect will give it nearly infinite replay value, with enough plot to give it substance, but not so much that it lets up or slows down. And while it is not completely historically accurate, it is not as embellished as some people are complaining. Obviously some of the creatures were unreal, and the events did not happen exactly as depicted (Leonidas did not die last after a face-to-face encounter with Xerxes, but dying in a hail of arrows while standing and facing them just makes for better film). Nothing wrong with romanticizing a story that really was quite powerful to begin with. Besides, if these wankers want to complain about every historical inaccuracy, they should just avoid this type of movie, because there is no way to maintain 100% accuracy when there were no camera crews to document the events at the time anyway. Fuck...I doubt most film makers would be able to make a completely accurate movie about an event that happened last year. It was a great movie...period.
the hunchback looked a lot like a guy I know named Gerry.
This has opened up a whole new perspective on the movie for me. If I see it again, I'll be running an alternate audio track in my mind...
Gerry: Let me fight for you.
Leonidas: Come on, Gerry, it'll never work. You're a mutant. Get me some coffee.
Gerry: But we know not of coffee.
Leonidas: Then go invent it
Gerry: I think you're just giving me busy work!
Leonidas: There are no small roles, just small SPAAAAHRTANNNZZZ!!!
Others: Aa-OOO aa-OOO aa-OOO!
Leonidas: Anyway, work on that coffee, Ger.
Wow, now the iranians are pissed cuz they saw the Persians get OWNED

Someone should take this movie, chop it up to a fine powder, put it in pills and sell it during the night via informercial as a penis enlargerer. I mean it not only made mine longer and wider, but it was stayed harder for alot longer.

I love how those Immortals look, especially the immortal sandwiched between the avalanche and the grund.
