Wicked....
Wicked by Gregory McGuire? If that's the one - it's the book that the musical Wicked is based off of. I haven't read the book by I went to Chicago to see the play and I thought it was great.
I love Wicked!!! Except I find there's a bit in the middle hard to get by. I got to it and waited about a month before finishing the rest. I've lent the book to my friend now, and she was going to give it back when she reached the middley bit (SPOILER it's like...when she's at the... I dunno, tower? Kind of after a kid dies or something? I don't remember it that well) but I convinced her to keep it till she's ready to work through it. Except, I may never see that book again.
Have you read Confessions of an Ugly Stepsister? By the same author? It's also great.
i thought wicked was like a prequel to wizard of oz.. ?

I liked the beginning and the end a lot. there was a bad patch in the middle, where I was completely bored with where the story was going....
...overall a good read but i wouldn't go out of my way to recommend it
Well... that's like your opinion...
Dude! This is like, my favorite book, ever! I loved Son of a Witch too, it's the next one. By the way, The musical version is superb as well, saw it in Denver. I can't wait for the next installment, It may be called either "A Cowardly War" or "The Watermark"
