What Do You Look For?
When picking a book to read, what do you look for.
For me I really like violence and sorrow. I don't really care for happy endings, or values. I don't care to get lessons. I find violence and pain and sadness to be more realistic then everything fitting into place. Not that I don't like books like that. I like the darkness of all things. It's what I come from.
Good arms vs bad arms will win hands down.
I like that take to what I call "A Trip to a Psychological Guetto". Books like Fight Club and Trainspotting and A Clockwork Orange. A little darknees with laughter...

If that's what surrounds you then why bother reading more about it? I like to look for things that are as far away from where I am at the moment for my own personal satisfaction and for my artistic satisfaction I look for authors that can describe thoughts and emotions in ways that I couldn't even fathom until after seeing them put it into words. Someone that can describe the undescribable. also stuff with lots and lots of sex in it.

Didn't say it surrounds me. Nothing dark happening in my life now. But I grew up with violence, pain, death, sadness, and a whole lot of other things like that. I experienced it and saw it. I grew up watching, reading, and listening to violent things. It's what I am use to, so I like to read books like that. And also because I might be a bit odd I think there is beauty to be found in sad things. I read plenty of other books not related in any way to those things, and I liked those. I just find more interest in morbid things.
And if you say I should read things that are as far away from me at the moment, that would be it anyways. I am an extremely happy person these days. And nothing is indescribable. That's what we have words for.

Dig the face. I know it sounded completely ridiculous. But that is how I say it and all that jazz.

I look for happiness and sunshine and rainbows and unicorns, with Disney-like endings. If it has no moral of fluffy positivity, I'm afraid I might feel like the world isn't perfect.
