The Poe Shadow.
Has anyone read The Poe Shadow by Matthew Pearl? I've pass this book a hundred times in the bookstores, and just never brought myself to buy it. So I figured I'd ask around here if anyone has read it, and if they liked it.
I am a HUGE Poe fan, so this book interests me, but it's also the reason I haven't bought it yet. I don't want to read a disapointing book about, or based on, my favorite writer.

Exact same for me, I bought it after I read the Dante Club but havent dived into it yet.
I wonder would you have to be well versed in Poe to enjoy it so if you read it or find out more let me know.
I would guess not. You didn't really need to be a Dante scholar for his other one.
I've got it but haven't read it yet. His Dante Club was a pretty good, fun read. I'd say go for it.
