Dalking about depression, has anyone read Prozac Nation? what did you think? it has to be one of the most annoying books ive ever read!
I am sorry for calling you a man. I am sure it was a horrible experience to behold. I am also sorry if I worded my response in a different way than was approving for you. I shall respond in proper grammar and simple syntax, so as to appeal to the most wide audience possible and not offend anyone. Thank you for pointing out my fatal flaw.
The movie's already made, it's just taking a million years to come out.
It was annoying and whiny, and I've said this in another thread, but it was supposed to be because that's how she was. My uncle is an everything-addict and he's whiny little childish person too.

Salinger swore that none of his books/works would be commercial in any way shape or form. Ever wonder why Holden Caulfield is never on T-shirts or in any movies? It's because Salinger knew that his works should stay in words on a page. Think of him as the Bill Watterson of literature.
In fact, Micheal, that play you did may, in some obscure way, be a copyright infringement. All depends on how it was used.

It's funny you mention this..... They are both sad, bitter men. Neither one wants anything to do with society anymore and there are very few pictures in existence of either......

Um, is Morey talking about Salinger or Watterson? Because watterson never wrote short stories... He just drew funny stuff that is awesome.
ok, ok, sorry if i got touchy, but i have a bloke name in real life and get slightly upset about the whole bloke thing.
despite thinking Prozac Nation was annoying and depressing, you have to give her full marks for writting it like it was, if i was like that i dont think id want the whole world to know. At least its put me off beinhg manicaly depressed!

Most of you who read Catcher did so without guidance. I don't mean to call you stupid, but I'm not sure if you saw all the significance in the hidden metaphors that are in this book. The fucking ducks and the pond is the most awesome metaphor I have ever come across. The whole end seems totally arbitrary unless you have an analytical mind. Catcher In The Rye is definately not for the person who wants shit in their face all the time. It is a thinking book for people who don't take things as they are.

*Deciphers encrypted text...* Catcher is rich with metaphors. I doubt you can go two pages without coming across a metaphor. You really need to read it with a teacher or Cliff's Notes or something to really grasp this book. Cuz if you didn't get the metaphors, you didn't get this book.

pg 211 in my book...thats my favorite....don't feel bad knox either you get this book or you don't and hell once you get the book a few years from now you might not even know what the hell it was that charmed you if you go back and read it. It could slip through your fingers like that gold ring.

prozac nation was the most depressing book Ive ever read...everyone that ive known to finish it either had ot get antidepressants to finish it or lay it down all together. i read it and wanted to kill myself. though i will admit to the chapter titles "I hate myself and want to die" and I woke up this morning afraid I was going to live" very clever and I could relate to them at the time of reading...but trash that book it suckedass...but you know theres supposed to be a movie made about it soon
