Stephen Elliott Fans REJOICE! The Adderall Diaries!
Stephen Elliott has a new book, a memoir, out in September, BUT you might be able to read an ARC now if you are willing to sign it and send it on the next person. It's very cool, very fun, though I had a really hard time parting with the book after I finished it. It's haunting.
The book is called: The Adderall Diaries: A Memoir of Moods, Masochism, and Murder

If you ask me where I come from, I have to converse with
broken things,
with utensils bitter to excess,
with great beasts frequently rotted
and with my anguished heart. (Neruda, of course)
It's a memoir that starts off with the author covering the murder trial of Hans Resier and then being impacted personally in ways that are SPOILERS.

WOw, sounds like In Cold Blood for a new generation!
I'd get in on this but I know I'd Epic Fail about sending it on.
Well, then you can wait and read it in September. Cool, that you can call your own epic fail and resist.

A Memoir of Moods, Masochism, and Murder
The murder part was what was making me think it would be part fiction. No way Jones has ever killed anyone. And even if he did he's smart enough to never write about it in a memoir! But now I'm intrigued!
It's not Jones! It's Stephen Elliott, the author of Happy Baby and A Life Without Consequences, among others.

Thanks for the recommend Mirka - I tend to love your book taste so will check out the postage chances to the UK.
"What cha readin' fer??"

Thank you! I believe, the love goes both ways since we have such similar tastes.
I hope it's international, I'm not sure. It's worth asking!

haha, thanks for passing that on.
I'm going to interview him in late July. I'm very taken by the book. I don't usually like memoirs, but..well.. I'll let you read it without too much input. I like to read books that way.
That's sweet of him to ship to the UK! Please share your thoughts with me and any interview questions you might like me to ask.

Ahh I didn't know you were interviewing him too, hope its fun! Yep, I'd never normally read a memoir, but I shall try this one. When it arrives, I'll see if I do ahave any questions, cheers

I didn't know I was going to interview him either. I just emailed him about it yesterday.

is this a non-fictional memoir? Or like one of those fiction ones where they use a memoir as a means of telling the story?
