Spanish Book Recommendations
Hello, I just registered for the site though I've been reading it for years. I'm a big fan of Chuck's books as well as similar authors like Will Christopher Baer and Craig Clevenger. I was wondering if any of the members here read any fiction originally written in Spanish? I'm a student of the language and would love to find some good Spanish books. Not simply English books translated to their Spanish versions. Thanks a lot.

"A friend is like anything else. A dog, a plant. You ignore them and they tend to die on you."
"One hundred Years of Solitude" and "Love in the Time of Chollera" by Gabrielle Garcia Marquez, two of my all time favorite books period.
I just started "Memoirs of a Gigolo" by Marcus Rey out of Brazil, will let you know how it turned out.
Check out anything by Carlos Ruis Zafon.
Thanks for the recommendations!
A question about Saramago, I read that he's from Portugal, so are his novels actually written originally in Portuguese? Same question with Marcus Rey as he's form Brazil.

Garcia Marquez! I wish, WISH that I could read him in the original. You're so lucky.
"The Savage Detectives" by Roberto Bolano is supposed to be amazing.
Good point about Marcus Rey.
