SHOW ME YOUR BOOKIE WOOKS!
I have a very limited bookshelf with half of the books on their unread. I need to work on that, but I also need to read some newer stuff. Just too much to do right now, and with school reading, it's ridiculous. Soon though, I hope to have a quality boastable shelf.
Here is my hideous mess.

I shall do that. I've been looking for something good to read lately. I'm working on We the Living right now, which is superb, slow at first, but only for a short while.

Kirk- I'm drooling over your Sandman collection there. I haven't been able to afford even one yet. Priorities... alas.

This is why we can't have nice things.
I'm s very spoiled boy. It seems my mom does in fact, love me. Amazon Is the best price that I have seen around $65 each
I got the entire Absolute Sandman collection for less than the price of one book. Hooray for Barnes & Noble coupon abuse! There was also a briefly famous photo in the dress down thread of me and the books.

I remember when you did that and how insanely jealous i was.

I just got a new camera and I want to try it out so I thought I'd do this. I wanted to do this thread when it was hot but I never got around to it.
I definitely need to get some more shelf space.

Haven't seen this thread in a while. The great comeback of '10? Maybe. very well, maybe.
Of course you can!
And here is a close up of something in the first picture. It's the card that Pepper sent me in the May gift exchange. I loved it so much that I framed it.
If you can't read the caption, it says:

As your attorney, my advise to you is to start drinking heavily(er).-Tuffy

Awesome.
I'm glad something I sent you you liked enough to keep around.
BUMP!
I posted in here a while ago, but since I moved my bookshelves have changed a bit. I got almost all of my leather bounds out of storage and I've added a few to my TBR shelf. And by a few I mean way too many. I shouldn't be allowed to buy another book for about 10 years. Luckily they were all $3 or less, and a lot of them were free.
This is the purdy shelf in my living room. I have read a lot of them, but not these actual books. These things don't come cheap and I don't plan on depleting their value by cracking the spines.

I couldn't sleep in the middle of the night, so I got up and arranged this shelf in alphabetical order. I've read every single one of these. Going through them I realized how many books that I love I have given away over the years. I don't have copies of some of my favorite books, I must remedy this situation.

This is TBR shelf #1. Almost all of these are on my 1001 list.

TBR shelf #2 + graphic novels that I've read. A lot of these are on my list and a lot are just random.

These are the art books in the studio

These are the books the nurse asked about being real.

I don't think they look quite as big in this picture as they actually are, they're pretty massive.

I like the purdy shelf Melody. I also think it's funny that the nurse asked you if those books were real. Silly woman.
I wants more picatures.

Jealous of those leather bounds. Delicious.
Couple weeks ago I finally finished buying and putting the last matching bookcase for my wall. I hopefully won't need another one for a while. I'm really happy with how they look.

Beautiful!
Thanks, Amber!
Christina said, "Are you trying to be fancy with the empty spaces?"
I said, "Fuck no! I need more books!"
Impressive
Thanks, Stephen!
Very nice! Where did you get those shelves?
Thanks, Sema!
They are from ikea.

Thanks! I'm shopping for bookcases, because mine are spilling out from under the table. And I really hope we are moving soon, because there is no room here for my books and stuff.
If you just get same design (the Billy design) in plain white or black, they're a bit cheaper. I bought all of mine over the course of a few months, putting a bit of money aside each week. I had bookcases, so I wasn't in any rush. I knew those were the ones I wanted.
Thanks, Alecia! And, yes, that's true. That's why I wanted big bookcases that I could have in my living room.
I need me some book shelves. I'm thinking of getting a corner shelf because that's pretty much the only space I have left in my room.
Awesome, Pete! Did you just randomly put your books in there, or is there a system?
They look beautiful, Pete. That's the sort of bookcase I'll get when I live on my own.
Yeah, is it by title or author or genre or by favorite or the classic random surprise system?

Looks great!
Sadly, my mum would look at this and call it clutter.
I am amazed at how many hardcover books you have, though. They're not that popular here, and I have counted 8 in my room. We have more, but they're in the living room and they're all newspaper collections.
I find it hard to read those, too. My arms aren't strong enough
Paperbacks 4 lyfe.
Preach!
Thanks, Imke!
They are organized by type: Fiction and Narrative, Crime, Psychology, Social Behavior, Economics, Diet, Exercise, and a few others. They spaces line up with a few of the sections. And then by author.
Thanks, Irina!
Everybody should have tons of books. That way it encourages your kids to read. They see all of those awesome books, how could they not eventually pick one up?
Sadly, my mum would look at this and call it clutter.
Thanks, Harriet!
Not clutter! No way!
Billy bookcases for the win!

i like your "Natural Baby" book. i really want there to be an "Unnatural Baby" book.
