Only The End of the World Again (Neil Gaiman)

How about you guys?
I agree on The Metamorphosis. Absoluteley fantastic short story. I like a lot of Kafkas short stories. For example: Der Hungerkunstler, In der Straffkolonie and Das Urteil. Franz Kafka is actually my favorite author
I also really enjoyed some of the stories in "Dubliners" by James Joyce.
And The Overcoat by Nikolai Gogol is a fantastic shot story as well.
"Someone must have slandered Josef K., for one morning, without having done anything truly wrong, he was arrested."
"Jemand musste Josef K. verleumdet haben, denn ohne dass er etwas Böses getan hätte, wurde er eines Morgens verhaftet"
Anything by Joy Williams, Thom Jones, and Amy Hempel.
Also the most obvious answer Jesus' Son by Denis Johnson.
Anything from The Things they Carried by O'Brien.
Anything from The Informers by Bret Easton Ellis.
I'm sure I'm leaving some out. I went through a faze where all I would read is short stories...
Pop Art by Joe Hill
The Nightmare Box by Chuck Palahniuk
Tony Takitani by Haruki Murakami
On Seeing the 100% Perfect Girl One Beautiful April Morning by Haruki Murakami
Interrogation by Jefferey Deaver
Anything from The Pugilist At Rest by Thom Jones and Everything Ravaged, Everything Burned by Wells Tower
