Recommendations - Official Book Club Selections
Check this out, guys...
http://chuckpalahniuk.net/recommended
We added a "Recommendations" section to the site this weekend. This allows you all to discuss and rate a large amount of books that we think Chuck fans would enjoy.
While doing so, we decided to include Book Club selections.

So if you're so inclined, check it out, rate some books and authors and help us get this started. If you think we missed something that should be in there, send Dennis a PM.
Good Job Kirk, Im after getting a load of recomendations just there and Ive been a member 2 years.
In the fan favourites could you include The Book Of Lost Things by John Connolly, I must have sent out about 30 copies to various Culties by now?
Oh Yes, The Gargoyle By Andrew Davson is surely worthy of note.
Kabol,
I'm not sure why or how 'Sarah' ended up in Member Favorites. I had thought that section was automatically generated based on Ratings people gave the books. But maybe Kirk has it set to "Page Reads" instead. He'll have to clarify. As far as it being included in the section, as a whole, it was a Book Club Selection one month. So it's original home is in that section.
Barca: As far as fan favorites, we don't have a way for people to do that yet. But I guess if something gets talked about enough on our site, it would eventually fall into the "Cult Recommends" or "Staff Favorite" categories.

Member favorites is all of the books in our system, ordered by the average rating they have received. Since few things have been rated so far, many of them are just in the default position.
why are Sunshine and 28 days Later in there? It's just supposed to be books isn't it?
Garland wrote the screenplays for those.
Also, it's going to grow to become more than books. Soon...

honestly, it wouldnt hurt my feelings if Sarah by jtleroy was removed from member favs. the impact of that novel derived from the fact that a sixteen year old addict / lot lizard / abused kid clawed his way to a literary level, which made him high tier. that power, though, seemed to diminish when it was founded that a middle aged couple came up with the invention of jtleroy and that the stories were in fact not at all true because, rather, they simply invented a ploy to cash in on the lucrative non-fiction market.
.
but that's a small thing, and ends my one rant of the day
.
this section looks great, man. cant wait til we get a whole lotta ratings in these departments. before, there were like twelve books of chuck recommends and that didnt seem enough. this new expansion section, though, we can offer a whole lot the next time a member joins up to ask for reading recommendations. a few links is all it'll take. i'll probably bookmark them..
