I am currently looking to get back into reading more, but I just can't read a book unless I absolutely enjoy it.  So, I am asking you guys for recommendations for books.  I enjoy the "Comming of age" genre, such as The Perks of Being a Wallflower.   (If you have ever heard of it)

If you could reply with any titles of books like that that you have enjoyed that are under this criteria, it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

I can't say I know too many bildungsromans that I've enjoyed, would you be at all open to other genres, and if you could tell us some of your other favourite books we might be able to offer some richer insight.

Studs Lonigan - James T. Farrell

Basketball Diaries - Jim Carroll

Both excellent coming of age tales, though they tend to lean to the darker edges of adolescence.

A Heartbreaking Work of Staggering Genius and What is the What, both by Dave Eggers, are excellent coming of age stories...though probably not the kind you have in mind. I highly recommend both though.

well, if you want coming of age that is actually meant for an audience of that genre, i would say Go Ask Alice.
If you wanted something with the same general ideas of new experiences and their subsequent adventures, perhaps The Hottest State

The Catcher in the Rye definitly stands out as one of the most famous books in the "coming of age" genre. Holden Caulfield's is really the quintessential teenage angst story.
