That is a good one. Say 'hi' to Pig Bodine for me. And to McClintic Sphere.

I've been reading and working on a review of Ted's 'Revulsion' submission in the 'shop...

And Still ploughing th deep waters of HTML code and Švejk.

My web site is live, though static, mainly consisting of a cute little Photoshop project and a bunch of links to hold the place until I get the sight I've been dreaming up operational. Had a hosting deal that was too good to pass on that would expire on 2/28 and had to sign on. Same, I understand, as hosts the Cult...

Farewell, My Lovely by Raymond Chandler. This is basically a hardboiled vintage crime narrative with anything from crime to jewel theft to street-smart and super-savvy police corruption. I love it so far because of just how gritty the book is.

l just started reading 'Zero: The Biography of a Dangerous Idea' by Charles Seife. This is very fascinating book. Basically, it's about how invention of number zero turned the world upside down.

Saul Bellow's 'Herzog'
Just finished it, it's the first Bellow I've tried. Struck me as Philip Roth Lite. That's unfair, I know. The copy I have is an old one, so it doesn't have the introduction written by Philip Roth, which I'm sure speaks of all the ways Roth learned at the feet of Bellow.

Still plugging away sporadically on 'The Good Soldier Švejk.' It's so rambling and in need of editing I can't stick with it straight through. It's very funny, but as John Irving points out, drunks ramble and so do books by drunks... Still, full of insights into the nature of the first World War from the other side of the lines. History as written by the losing side, I suppose.

Oh, and still various books, particularly LeMay to get my mind around coding & scripting. And various shorts I'm still behind on.
