Quote
I am going to paint a quote on my wall, and I would like it to be one of the following but I can't decide on which. Which one(s) do you like?
"Nothing of me is original. I am the combined effort of everybody I've ever known."
"We've taken the world apart... But we have no idea what to do with the pieces."
"Maybe knowing isn't the point."
"The better you look the more you see."
"Life's greatest comfort is being able to look over your shoulder and see people worse off, waiting in line behind you."
What I have shown you is reality. What you remember... that is the illusion.
Ah, I'll consider that one. Although, regrettably, I feel that it might be in the same league as "I want to get high off this, not sprinkle it on my fucking Oaties!"; just not quite wall-quote material..

These are all horrible quotes. They go from being stupid to obvious and inspire nothing hopeful. Just bitter pessimistic bullshit, really.
Where did you get them?
Look a few of these over, you might like them:
the first one is from trainspotting, the rest shouldn't be on a wall.
I thought the first one was from Invisible Monsters and none of them should be on a wall.

if it's from invisible monsters, then chuck ripped it from trainspotting. i thought the TS quote was more wordy.
google says it's chuck but i also found trainspotting in its entirety so i'm gonna look there too. perhaps this requires more investigation.
We recognize that there are no trivial occurrences in life if we get the right focus on them.
- Mark Twain
pretty much anything by Mark Twain will do you good.
"Please don't stand so close to me."
The Police
"I thought I had mono once for an entire year. Turns out I was just really bored."
Wayne Campbell

I read it in Invisible Monsters.

yeah i think i must have read invisible monsters around the same time i read trainspotting because i can't seem to find it in trainspotting.

I like it when I'm right.

I like some of the quotations from the link you posted.
And in response to your questions; I got them from Invisible Monsters, Choke, Glamorama and Rant.
Not necessarily looking for anything inspirational per se, not that I'm looking to paint anything particularly pessimistic. Just realistic, I suppose. I guess I'm slightly apathetic in that.
But thank you for the link!

It's a nice feeling, isn't it? Kind of makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside.
What I have shown you is reality. What you remember... that is the illusion.
kind of like climbing the rope in gym class.
Naw.. I'm pretty sure the only warm feeling I got from that was rope burn ;(

My favorite quote is a misquotation that i made.
'I have strung wires from steeples to stars and tightroped across the sky.'
Then, too, pretty much anything Tom Waits has ever said is brilliant.

I got it...
"I thought I had mono once for an entire year. Turns out I was just really bored."
Wayne Campbell
"everthing burns if the flame is hot enough"
"there are 2 moons, the one you can see and the one you cant"
one of my favorite lines from glamorama; "are we... in the same movie?" haha this one makes me laugh

ooh... 2 votes for this one.

Who said this?
I'm pretty sure there is, in fact, only one moon.
Unless they were talking about "moon" meaning someone's ass or something.
that which reflects light...and the dark side of the moon....whoa....
It's still the same single moon though.
Should have written it as never seeing the full face of the moon or something along those lines.

Also, any other suggestions welcome.
