.

hey, yaw. the wickerman showed this to me a week ago and i ordered one for $14. now it's on sale for twelve bucks and change. phenom price, fantastic to own. plus, you should own a copy for security reasons. it doubles as a weapon.

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/159692151X

this originally released back in late 2005 and ran out of printed copies. i've seen them on ebay selling for over a hundred smacks. that's how badass this edition is. it think this is finally reissued, so swoop your copy while you can !!

I think those who got it fot 14 didn't get a bad deal. Doesn't the 12 still leave out the shipping cost?

I love Baer's work. Still waiting on Godspeed though.

Its been a while since I read all through this entire trilogy. Just bought the paperback so I could do it all in one book instead of three seperate ones.

Thanks for the heads up on this.

Mine still hasn't shipped. Maybe amazon fucked up like usual, and they really don't have this in stock? I'm going to order from one of the used copys as a just in case, while they are 12 bucks instead of 90. and if I get two copys, i don't really care; I'll end up giving both away anyway, like always.

no way. after a full fourteen months without an edition, and that horrible softcover HHA release, i'm not relinquishing this edition again. i'd given away two and sold one, thinking i'd just get another, less worn one. and alas, i'm due for another. kind of like you feel a headache if you misplace a baseball glove or are not in your favorite jeans, it'll definitely make a more completed shelf.

as for amazon, that's possible. but my statement says march 16 shipping date. and it said that when i bought it. i guess that's the date i find out for certain. and that's the date i'll let everyone else know whether it shipped or not..

i should know monday night if this is bs, as that is the estimated shipping date. if it ships monday, i'll know that the edition is again available and for such a great damned deal. am hopeful.

isnt that fun:

Shipping estimate: March 19, 2009 - April 2, 2009

Shipping estimate: April 1, 2009 - April 2, 2009
1 of: Phineas Poe: Kiss Me/Judas/ Penny Dreadful/Hell's Half Acre

Shipping estimate: March 19, 2009 - March 21, 2009
1 of: Twilight

.

so, needless to say, the shipping changed. amazon sent me a long letter about how they understand how much i was looking forward to this item and that they very much appreciate my needs and they are so sorry but sometimes books sell out and they will order more and my best interest is in their best lah blah....

.

so, i'll know in april at what time the NEW shipping estimate will be

or maybe the omnibus actually re-releases in april. it's so hard to say, one way or another..

i think i'm done with amazon. i ordered 2 books not long ago and not one but both books were 'out of stock' and they had to re-order them from their distributor. why was it even listed? i had to wait about 3 weeks for the books and they weren't even similar books.

my ship date is still listed as march 20th. i guess i'll expect a rollback on that.
borders briefly had them up and available and i quietly placed an order for immediate shipping expedited, and the order kept being pushed back and back... now it's showing 2-4 weeks there as well.

i wonder if someone found a crate of omnibi ('buses?) at a warehouse randomly, and now the supply is gone.

As you know, I was holding out hope that your order would come through, Beto. Mine was canceled long ago. I was hoping you were going to get yours because you were at a certain place in line and they were holding copies for you.

i found it at borders bookstore a while back. i'd suggest hunting around for it if it's at all possible. it's huge, probably my thickest book.

I reckon if Godspeed does well they might re-issue it again. Though, doing a re-issue sometime within the last year seems like it would've been a good marketing campaign.
But, yeah, best of hope for the success of Godspeed so we can get the Omnibus again.

I run into problems with the omnibus. I really want all of my friends to read the trilogy, but the first one I had I lent out and it wound up in Colorado. So. I don't lend out the one I've got now. My solution was to buy a copy of Kiss Me, Judas, and loan that to people. My roommate's got it right now. Though he's in Boston, which is starting to make me think the books just like crossing state lines.

I've learned my lesson with lending books out. I only lend a book back with the assumption that I will never see it again. If I get it back it's like a reward.

I've bought so many copies of Choke, Fight Club, Jesus' Son that it's ridiculous.

I never expect the book back. But with that in mind - I only lend out books that I can afford to lose/buy again.

heck yeah, i'll look around. houston isn't exactly known for it's literary community so i'll more than likely find it.
