Anyone read/reading this, I just started it and don't want to put it down?
I know many people here think he's a horrible writer and the such, but his books make you think. I thought State of Fear was a great book, making you rethink status quo on global warming and environmentalism.
This book is about the stem cell debates/hysteria. So far ~page 60~ it's already looked at some of the social, political, ethical, legal, and scientific aspects of bio/genetic engineering.
This guy in the book got cancer and it was cured, but it was cured because his body was extremely efficient at producing cytokines or something. His doctor mislead him thinking he was still sick and was basically stealing these cells from his body and selling them to a company. He lost a lawsuit against this doctor and essentially lost the rights to his own cells. This book will make you think, and those are the best kinds.

I can always turn it into that if you would like..... with the whole stem cells issue but I'll leave it be at the moment.

I'm guessing it's fiction? you're description of it sounds like non-fiction though?
so confused
It's fiction but it weaves in actual legal and ethical issues, it's about stuff that could very well happen or be happening.
