List of Past Book Club Books
So to end all of the confusion of what we have read and what we haven't read - I've organized this list. These are all the books that we have discussed in the past. And they are links to the original discussions - so I encourage you to check out the books and add to the discussions.
If anybody finds any mistakes in this list or has any suggestions - feel free to post them here. Please click on all the links and check them out for me. I will be adding the books to this list after I move them to the Official Cult Book Club Forum (after the discussion is over).

p Good list...some books I`ve read already....Coupland,Vonnegut,Joyce,Irving...etc.
but many I didn`t read and I hope I will...
I tried to find it but not everything is translated.
...It sounds cool...I will keep this list for the future
That's some list, a lot of books there i'll have to buy in the future.
the only book of ive read of these is house of leaves which may seriously be the worst book ive ever read
So I spent so much time making all of these links... and now none of them work anymore. Maybe I will get around to fixing them when everything calms down a bit here. I thought this was a really good way to keep track of everything.
oh, that list sucks. ive read those books. try and be more original, will ya.. ?
jeez
still, none of these threads work here as well.. ive been trying to search out quick fixes but have yet been unsuccessful. sorry. great list, though--the grunt work must've sucked..

many of thhis books are pretty good...I didn`t read all these books, cause it`s impossible to find in Russia...
But Joyce, Vonnegut, Murakami, Coupland are great...
Could you make you own list? It would be great

Yeah - the links took a long time to do. If I redid it now - it would take even longer because of no copy and pasting for some reason. So I think I'm going to wait. The base is there I just have to fix a few things in each link (I think) and then they will all be ready to go again...
yeah, he can recommend very good books...Thanks!!!
Now I'm really glad I joined this site because I've been struggling to find books and authors that are similar to the type of stuff I read.
Besides Palahniuk and Ellis I always have a hard time finding anyone like them.
"What you don't understand you can make mean anything."-Misty Marie Kleinmann
Sorry - I still haven't fixed this thread... I need to go over all of the links and redo them. Everything is different since the site change and I honestly forgot all about this thread. I'll try to get on it soon though.
Awesome. Thank you for that enchanting list. I hope I can find some of those books in the local libraries.
So who's picking next months book anyway? if you don't mind me asking...
"Someone must have slandered Josef K., for one morning, without having done anything truly wrong, he was arrested."
"Jemand musste Josef K. verleumdet haben, denn ohne dass er etwas Böses getan hätte, wurde er eines Morgens verhaftet"
Go to the groups section. Click on Book Club and join it. There is where you will find the "New Book Club." Although I'm not going to lie - we're having a little bit of a hard time getting it going. Right now we should be discussing Knockemstiff.
A great list there indeed.
This is a great place for me to delve into other works outside of Chuck's. Only a few weeks ago I was scratching my head wondering what I am going to read once I finish all the Chuck's current works.
Currently trying to buy at least one or two new books a fortnight and getting them read in that time too.
I've already read a good few from that list.
I'm a tad confused to how this "book club" works. How do we know what book is the book we're supposed to read?
"My hopes lay shattered like a mirror on the floor
I see myself and I look really scattered
But I lived my broken dreams"
- Daniel Johnston
We moved the book club into the group section.
So go up to the top of the page where it says "community" and click on "group."
You join the book club there.
And don't forget, you can pick up the book club selections here http://chuckpalahniuk.net/recommended/books/book-club-selections
I added some of the newer Book Club Selections. I fixed a lot of the links.
If you guys see any mistakes - let me know.
Some of the discussions I fear were lost in the site changes. Some might just need a little work to find.
If anybody finds the links to the ones I didn't do - PM them to me and I will add them in.
Also if I missed anything PM me and I will add it.
Thanks guys!
definitely gonna have to check some of these out!
and someday soon,
any day now, the world will come open that door
and rescue us.
the world will listen.
starting on that sun-glorious day,
the world is going to love us.
You won't be disappointed!
I'm very happy to see that Jeremy Robert Johnson's Angel Dust Apocalypse was presented here. It was one of my first bizarro books, and it was a hell of an introduction to the genre.
Jeremy is a cool dude. Check out the thread - he hung out with us and discussed the book.
Just read it. I love the stuff he has to say about the publishing world.
Thanks, Pete and Edmund. I had a great time participating in the ADA discussion thread. Feels like that was ages ago. I'd gladly come back and talk about the new thing if The Cult would have me.
Although I have to say that fellow Swallowdown Press author J David Osborne's book BY THE TIME WE LEAVE HERE, WE'LL BE FRIENDS might inspire livelier conversation (the ending is crazy, and the book is an amazing and bizarre Russian Gulag-set noir headfucker with blurbs from Cult-friendly authors like SGJ and Monica Drake), and then there'd be no authorial double-dipping. I know JDO would love to come by and he's very entertaining.
Or we could both come by and tag team a month. Or you could just ignore this post because I'm near unconscious and probably not sound for forum posting. I'm a dad now, so I don't sleep. I just keep moving forward, wondering what I've just done. It's awesome.
Best wishes.
I live in England and have a hard time getting JDO books. No kindle or paperback available on Amazon?
You look like the type of guy / gal, who would like:
Jeremy, with the start of LitReactor - I'm not sure what's going to happen with this Book Club. I've been asked to run LitReactor's Book Club. I don't know if running two Book Clubs will be too much for me. Or if this Book Club will even be successful anymore with people participating in LitReactor's.
The next few months will be the decider.
If I do decide to keep both going, I will use both of those books for sure.

Great List PGoutis.
Im going to try plow through a few of this books and then read up on them.
Right now Im busy as Hell at work but in New Year I will set some time aside for the Book Club. I always think that my opinions wouldnt be strong enough but then and again I never thought I would fit in at The Cult.
