JT LeRoy (Fake?)
I just started read 'Sarah'. I asked a friend of mine, (who wrote a book called 'War Boy'). What he thought of LeRoy, had he read him. I asked him cause there's some similarities in their writing, subject matter, a little. He's not sure, that he might be fake, that some of it rings false. Truth is, the guy could be a middle-aged woman, who knows and does it matter.

yeah, I agree completely. Its an "A for Effort" kind of book to me.
People seem to be entirely too sensitive around this book.
As heartbroken as I felt in imagining that there were even the slightest autobiographical truths present in "Sarah", my judgment still remains that the book is trash, that it received undue acclaim, and that no amount of effort is commendable when the polished product still smells like shit.
I took both his books out of the library, and even though the first one did not impress me I started reading the other one last night cause at work, its either TV or read. I don't like to quit on books once I start, but I must say I'm finding the little hookers life real tiresome; I don't care.
what has being a teenager got to do with this book?
i liked it acctually, it was a supprise, aand it was pretty well written.
I didn't like Sarah as much as the other one. I didn't much like the truck stop. It got old really fast.
The other one was okay, the only part that I really remember liking is the first or second story/chapter when he's a little kid and gets taken back by his real mom. The rest was just eh, but that part was good.
Wait what
There is hope, but not for us.

last time i heard that situation happening it was when those guys were publishing the bible
mirka met him. the guy's real. quit falling for it!
andy kaufman is alive i tell you !
I think it's the sister of the real writer's boyfriend. But, yeah, I met the public 'J.T. Leroy' part of the farce.
What a trip. I wonder if "his" hovering assistant was the actual writer.
well, it was a good run while it lasted wasn't it ?
wait no it wasnt they still didnt get me into reading any of his/her books
Interesting books, whoever wrote them. Sarah, to me, is definitely not written by the same "person" as The Heart Is Deceitful Above All Things, and I don't think that either were written by one person--the stories in The Heart... feel like more than one mind and writing "signature", and the structure lends itself to that being capable.

No, he's a real person. Check out his site. I actually met him during a photo shoot he did for Vanity Fair. The Co. I worked for catered it.
