It's the end of the world and I am reading...
I have to remember to add it to my (nerd alert) to-read spreadsheet. I randomize it every time I'm about to read a book. That way it chooses one for me. haha
Lazy!
No, it insures that I read all those books I forget about.
I always forget what I'm looking for by the time I get to the store but find other books I didn't even know about.
Goodreads has helped me out a lot when buying a book and when that fails I text Pete. Poor guy probably hates me.
Anyway I'm almost finished reading Dove. Wish I was finished with Middlesex already and wondering if I should take a book with me to Hawaii and which one. I'm thinking of taking Tv Snorted my Brain but I don't want it to get wet since it's signed!
Pete has great taste--he told me a list of titles a while back and, so far, they're all great (I'm interspersing them with other books and I'm a slow reader).
Aw Thanks Guys! I try!
You should write a book of recommendations Pete.
Back when Mirka was here, I was supposed to have like a Pete's top 10 recommendations type thing. But, of course, that never happened. lol
Do you not like Middlesex Jaz? I loved that one. I'm enjoying The Marriage Plot - it's a bit heavy on college clichés but I love college clichés
I got sucked into Middlesex right away but for some reason I haven't been able to breeze through it like these other books. I'm enjoying it though, it's just taking me a while. I think I'm going to start the second vol. of 100 bullets on the way to work today.
Harry, A History. It's not very well written, but I'm enjoying it all the same.
"I'm glad I live in the GPS era. In a different century, I would've set off to visit the other side of the village and wandered off into the mountains and been eaten by a carnivorous plant. Or discovered the Americas."
-LaJessica
Of course I loved The Rotters' Club. Especially the last few pages. Brilliant.
Otsuichi - Black Fairy Tale.
Now that I have more time for it, I actually enjoy Moby-Dick.
It's one of my favorites. I'm glad you're liking it.
Tuffy the Dump Truck may rarely increase the risk of a heart attack or stroke. The risk may be greater if you have heart disease or increased risk for heart disease (for example, due to smoking, family history of heart disease, or conditions such as high blood pressure or diabetes), or with longer use. Tuffy should not be taken right before or after heart bypass surgery. Also, Tuffy may infrequently cause serious (rarely fatal) bleeding from the stomach or intestines. This effect can occur without warning symptoms at any time while taking Tuffy. Older adults may be at higher risk for this effect. (See also Precautions and Drug Interactions sections.) Stop taking Tuffy and get medical help right away if you notice any of the following rare but serious side effects: bloody or black/tarry stools, persistent stomach/abdominal pain, vomit that looks like coffee grounds, chest/jaw/left arm pain, shortness of breath, unusual sweating, weakness on one side of the body, sudden vision changes, slurred speech. Ask your doctor if Tuffy is right for you.
I'm already halfway through and I started it on Monday.
Driven by James Sallis.
The Complete Works of HP Lovecraft.

I hated Moby Dick. I liked the first chapter. And then the rest was shit.
Haha! Tell em like it is.
I am reading The Audacity of Hope by Barack Obama.
Just finished Moby-Dick. I'll start something short tomorrow.
Playground by Fitty Cent for work.
I hope the world doesn't end on the 21st because it would bum me out if this was the last book I had finished reading before I died.
I'd be bummed for you.
Will you have your class read it? That'd be hip.
I was thinking of teaching it between Hamlet and A Farewell to Arms. Should be a smooth transition.
Just now finishing the Dark Tower series by Stephen King.
Six books in and I rather enjoy it. It gets a little weird. But eh that's just King.

There are 8 books.
1-7 then earlier this year he released The Wind Through the Keyhole. Which takes place between books 4 and 5.
Finished vol. 2 and 3 of 100 bullets. I'm officially hooked. I'll be starting 4 as soon as I get home tonight.
I told you!
The Last Policeman by Ben H Winters.
Ethan Frome by Edith Wharton and yesterday I read Whatever by Michel Houellebecq.

And why for work? Are you really going to assign it after Hamlet? I really hope so but I can't tell if you're being sarcastic.

FUuuuuuuuuuuu... I didn't know about Wind Through the Keyhole. I think I'm just gonna finish the series then read it. I don't want to back track now.
The Death of Bunny Munro by Nick Cave.
Hey, let us know how that one is. I've been wondering about it for years now.
Rosebud was his sled.

I haven't read at all this week, because I've been way too busy. Saturday I'll be reading on the plane though, yay.

I love Ethan Frome. It's one of the ones I expected to hate but fell in love with. Completely miserable, brilliant.
I liked it a lot, too.
Today: An Artist of the Floating World by Kazuo Ishiguro.

I am being sarcastic--sorry
F, Fittddy, a-k-a Ferraarrrrrri!
I read the first page of Ethan Fromme in high school as an assignment. I was, obviously, supposed to read the whole thing, but, you know.
On the test, I got the highest grade in class. The girl who sat next to me (our valedictorian) knew I hadn't read the thing and was soooo pissed.
Not too long ago, when I saw that Alecia was reading it, I downloaded it. Haven't got around to reading it though. Maybe early next year.

It's very short.

Ha!
My boyfriend got me a really lovely edition of it. I'll take a pic.

Maybe it's time to read it!
