It's July, whatcha reading?
That is an interesting read, from what I remember, genetics right? Must be six seven years since I read it. Doesn’t it kick at Darwin? You read the selfish Gene?
It's about evolution more than genetics. It doesn't really 'kick at Darwin', it gives a few observations about evolution and some interesting facts about various animals, insects mostly. I have The Selfish Gene but I haven't got round to reading it yet.

I read 2/3 of the Selfish Gene, got a little bored. It described game theory, about every possible way you could "play," I got it after the first iteration, didn't need the next 20 slightly different variations.
Rivers of Eden is on my to-be-read pile, however.
I'm currently reading The Marching Season by Daniel Silva, awesome author if you like any secret agent/assasin type stuff. Still also trudging through Che.
Think for yourself. Question Authority.
I read a bit about game theory a few weeks ago, I find it quite interesting. I probably wouldn't enjoy it if it's as repetitive as you say.
!
i'd recommend about 20 or so of those 0 the one's i've read. Another 30 or so i've heard good things about and am interested in reading. The other half- meh, not interested.
What the hell's with the reader's list though? Ayn Rand and L. Ron Hubbard?:wtf:
Does anyone reccommend a book or two from the following list...What do you like about the book?

as soon as i saw Battlefield Earth i stopped reading
tainted list
thick and dense articles on point of view and epiphanies and first person narration in contemporary fiction. will baer short stories. intensive friends' novel chapters and shorts. stuffs like that. also in down time, have almost completed franny and zooie. started the other night and should finish it late tonight after work and intensive work and that sort of thing. not much in the way of prolifically reading through books this month. will probably have hamlet read in the next few days, soon after i pick it up from the local store in the form of a slim softcover. i have a brick-sized hard cover featuring all of his works, but who can read that. the font size is a seven or eight and the script type has cursive and characters everywhere and it was a wonderful gift but also a useless one

play hard, like it's work to be done.
Got about halfway through The Rum Diary and liked it, but haven't touched it in a couple weeks. Recently I've been reading Dostoevsky shorts, and I also have Franny and Zooey lying around, which I will pick up in a few days, then maybe wander my way back to The Rum Diary.
Has anyone read I, Lucifer...its next on my list and I just wanted to make sure it is worth it before I spend some time on it.
i'm reading son of a witch by gregory maguire. (continuation of Wicked...)

I recently read 'River Out Of Eden' by Richard Dawkins, he's probably the most well known evolutionist and a personal idol of mine.

Something like:
Motherless Brooklyn by Jonathan Lethem (Picked this up on whim. Funny spin on Touretts and language.)
Big Sur by Kerouac
The Breast by Philip Roth (think metamorphosis with a nipple.)
And I have to pick up pick up Hammett’s Maltese Falcon before I leave this city.
