'Imperial Bedrooms' New Bret Easton Ellis
For fans of BEE, It seems his up and coming Novel a sequel to less than zero, will be called 'Imperial Bedrooms'
No news on a release date, this news just leaked through the washington post, i don't even think BEE had planned on giving the title just yet
Wahey. I can't wait for this book. It's great that we have some news even if it is just the title. I was half expecting not to hear of this coming out for about five years.
So what do people think it will be like? Do you think it will be just from Clay's point of view or from a range of characters (Julian, Blair, Rip, etc.)? Where do you see Clay twenty years on? Do you think it will be more like BEE'S current style of writing or do you think he may make a conscious effort to return slightly to the style of LTZ?
I'm very excited, can you tell?
I'm skeptical about a Less than Zero continuation
I'm stoked that he's got a new book coming out.
But isn't it a little early? I thought he only wrote a book every 7 years or something...
yeah, is there a source?

Gertrude Stein said it best, "To write is to write is to write" you have to do it to do it.
Stuff about me
You really shouldn't have used that as your user name unless you are in fact bret easton ellis
why not??..It's not like Ellis is gonna be joining the site anytime soon
Authors join this site all the time. It's one of the cool things about the Cult. You never know who is on here.
guess he's gonna have to be Bret Easton Ellis1 then, unless the mods let me change my name, lol
Oh, how very cool. I really didn't think we would hear of Ellis after Lunar Park but thats brill news, can't wait!
Bring on Imperial Bedrooms!
Were the All Dancing, All Singing Crap of the world
If this was anyone else then I don't think it would work, but the fact that it is BEE and that all his novels crossover into eachother and characters pop up all over the place makes me think that it won't be that badly done. In terms of what the characters will be like 20 years later, surely he will look at the people he originally based them on and what they are up to now? The story might have already happened in a sense. I can't wait, the end of Lunar Park took me by suprise and I think this book will be utterly beautiful.

has he not been here for an interview at least once before
i know there was talk of pitching him to lead an intensive
no, it wouldn't surprise me either if he pops in some time
i certainly doubt he'd be upset that someone used his name
this has me stoked.. less than zero is my favorite beellis
though i too am still reeling with surprise, that it didnt
take seven years to write and publish

and they us you to get new ideas...one russian author just took post from one forum and....the book was ready!
Got a little moist in the crotch over this. Anything he does excites me to no end, but a American Psycho spin off about Timothy, perhaps what happened during his disappearance, that would have given me a heart attack.
Three cheers for violence.

someone on notanexit.net left a comment about seeing bret on a recent book tour, supporting another author, and when asked he said that 'imperial bedrooms' should be published in 2010. so, still a while to go. 'the informers' movie and that tv show he's developing should fill the gap till it arrives.

the fuck...?

"It is true, that which I have revealed to you; there is no God, no universe, no human race, no earthly life, no heaven, no hell. It is all a dream - a grotesque and foolish dream. Nothing exists but you. And you are but a thought - a vagrant thought, a useless thought, a homeless thought, wandering forlorn among the empty eternities."
that don't make no sense

Lunar Park didn't make a whole lot of sense either.
But BEE did some blow with Jay McInerney in it and THAT made a whole lot of sense to me.
I was here. Then I wasn't. Then I was again.
Don't get too excited. Movie adaptations of BEE tend to suck ass.

They'll probably stick with Kip Pardue if Roger Avery is at the helm.

hope so... I thought Kip Pardue was a great Victor and Rules of Attraction didn't suck.
"I thought I had mono once for an entire year. Turns out I was just really bored."

I cannot wait! I really hope it won't be anticlimactic after all the hype but good ole BEE has yet to disappoint me.
What I have shown you is reality. What you remember... that is the illusion.
Ellis' career has just gotten better and better as he's gone along, as far as I'm concerned. I'm anticipating Imperial Bedrooms to an absurd degree, even though its premise sounds similar to Lunar Park's. That might or might not be a silly concern: plot never much mattered before Lunar Park (but it definitely mattered in Lunar Park) so I'm incredibly eager to see what happens next.
anyone know if The Informers is going/has gone to DVD yet? There wasn't a showing within 200 miles of me *sad face*
Or will it all end in a big bankiss orgy?
August 25th
Thanks! Can't wait

Sounds exciting. Any ideas on a drop date? Amazon's got nothing on it yet.
Story is everything.
